Here's what he had to say about Gardner:
A year ago, we wondered if Gardner could be a viable target for Denard Robinson. Heck, that much had not changed by October. But then Robinson hurt his elbow and Gardner was thrust into duty.
When I visited Ann Arbor last month as part of the ESPN bus tour, Gardner was like the mayor of the football facility. It means something to be comfortable in your skin, doesn't it? And it means something to be comfortable at your position, doesn't it? Especially for a quarterback.
"I missed it," Gardner said. "I mean, I am a quarterback. I have played quarterback since I was 6."
Gardner threw 11 touchdowns in the final five games after he took over, and the coaching staff said he looked more at ease with each week.
A couple of hours before I interviewed coach Brady Hoke, I ran into him in the hallway. He immediately started talking about Gardner's development.
"He needs to understand a punt is not a bad play," Hoke said. "Sometimes it's OK to throw it away, throw it underneath. [There is] no need to force things."
That is what Hoke has been drilling into Gardner's head this spring. A more efficient, smarter quarterback could emerge this fall -- which is saying something considering he was not even a quarterback at this time last year.

This is true, but I did think they had potential entering last year. Le'Veon Bell was not to be taken lightly. Now that he's gone, it will take a breakout star for them to consistently score against stout defenses.
Three and a half technically, he enrolled early.
Agreed. I think we'll win by about 7. No offense to Denard, but now that we actually have a QB who can pass, we should have an easier time against their D. I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't expect a blowout at all. I'll be surprised if we win by more than 10, to be honest.

People said that and they scored 10 points on us. That is not a lot of points - they just had a good defense.
They'll be tough because that game is their super bowl, not because it is in East Lansing. They went 2-5 at home last year, 0-4 in B1G play.
If michigan has a solid running game, not even great.... We'll win convincingly against msu and penn state. Honestly, if our OL ruin blocks well this year.... I see us going undefeated. Only teams that worry In the conference are NW and ohio.... I think we have the athletes on defense to better match up with NW this year. Ohio will be the only game going into it that I'm worried we could lose. I've never been as excited about a UM team than I am this year....I really think could have two very special years in 13' and 14'
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
but they still didn't score on anybody last year. Sure it was a tighter game than we wanted but part of that was Narduzzi and Dantonio just having a good game plan for stopping Denard. It will be much harder to stop Gardner because he can pass better and still run pretty good.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Basically if we score 17 points, we win IMO unless MSU's offensive players REALLY improve during the summer.
PSU and MSU are probably too early for Ryan to come back but we can beat those teams without him. The games we really need Jake for is NW and you guys which are in November.
oops wrong thread

Agreed, coming off a bye there's no way the D gives up more than 14 against a MSU team that doesn't have an offense.
So he does still exist....
I mean, Idk how you can just assume that MSU will be just as bad(or worse) on offense this year, even though they did lose Sims and Bell. No year is the same lol. People are assuming the same about us basically. No offense now that Denard is gone. Little do they know.......right?!? ;) .
He exist's, and I will be surprised if he isn't a stud this year. He might play himself into a 1st round RB this year.
Wasn’t sure where to post this and I didn’t think it deserved its own thread. I’m surprised he still wants to go to USC, even though CLK is on the hot seat. It must be the song girls.
If he doesn’t get his full release some are saying he will go the prep route. Arkansas could be one to watch as well. His former Booker T teammate, Denver Kirkland signed there.
Matthew Thomas, saying he signed with FSU under duress in February, is asking coaches to release him so he can sign with Georgia or Southern California.
I guess u could have dug up the 2013 thread to put its in but I guess I'll let this slide lol. Just watch out for the Off topic police
It’s an off season thread . It’s a pretty big issue of the CFB off season so far.
