Team has 2 bye weeks this year which is insane to me. No way in hell they do worse than 9 & 3.
Only games that concern me are Notre dame, northwestern, and ohio....I think we won two if three if those.... 9~ 3 at the very worst

Devin Gardner is getting his degree today... he still has two years of eligibility left. What does he take at school now?

Denard Robinson and Devin Gardner graduate from The University Of Michigan today. Our awesome QBs, proud. #congrats @DenardX @dg1two
Grad school (2 years)?

Probably take graduate school classes or possibly another degree.
Ballroom dancing like Lienart???
With Devin being an early enrollee originally, it's not surprising to see him graduating today. He's probably had 13 terms (7 fall / winter full terms, plus 6 spring / summer terms since he got on campus) to gain credits, which makes up for the lighter load I'm assuming athletes take.
I'm not sure what the rules are, but grad school might be tough to get admitted, maybe he'll just get a double major and start working on more credits towards a second bachelors?
I'm not saying we will win the BIG but saying we only have a 1% chance is idiotic . Gotta love ESPiN
I don't care what the analysts say....we all know we're a better team than last year and that team wasn't far off from going to Indy....if injuries don't happen there is a gif chance we are there. Plus we only lost to, ohio by give at their home field....we win that game if we use denard like we did in the outback bowl....so these people can predict what they want.... I know we'll be in indy this year

Don't get worked up about it. And it's not actually ESPN; it's Football Outsiders and they just contribute their stuff to ESPN sometimes. And it's just a statistical model much like Kenpom for basketball. And the algorithm they use uses all the stats from the past 5 years to predict performance. So basically that's all three RR years and two of Hoke. Not the best sample for the current team, but that's why there are always exceptions to these models.
I think the biggest factor for how well this season goes relative to last year is our RB situation. The great team from the outback had a great RB in Denard. This year, will we have a great RB? Fitz is coming back from an injury, not sure how he will play. Green is a great running back but he is not accustomed to the Michigan style offense in the sense of blocking. He will need to learn that in a matter of a month before the season starts. For that reason, I don't think he will start. If things aren't 100% with Fitz, I see Deveon Smith as a likely candidate, but then again, he is only a freshman. Deveon will be a great 5-10 yard runner and will fight for every yard but I don't see any big plays coming out of him due to his lack of top end speed.
The reason I say that RB situation is more critical than the OL situation is because I can't see us any worse than last year with the OL. I think our OL will be better and the same at worst.
Saw that he graduated today (my sister graduated as well), but I know he's applying for grad school
Good explanation. Well said.
In ESPN news from the other side of the spectrum, Travis Haney named Devin Gardner #11 in his list of 15 post-spring breakout players.
espn insiders =
Remember two years ago when we were supposed to go 6-6 and go to the Pizza Pizza Bowl in Hoke's first year. That's what this is. The only teams that have the talent to beat us are ND, NW, and Ohio and two of those are at home.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Devin Gardner is a kid I REALLY hope comes back as a coach. Smart, charismatic, confident, and now showing the dedication to put it all together.
Michigan needs to incorporate this play into their playbook:
Imgur is used to share photos with social networks and online communities, and has the funniest pictures from all over the Internet.
I hope he has a long and successful career as a franchise NFL QB.
Michigan will need someone to replace Tom Brady (who has another 5-7 seasons left in the NFL).
He can get into coaching after that.

You don't see Green starting because of blocking, but you see Deveon Smith, another freshman, as a likely candidate? I don't get it
psu in happy valley is not a gimme and msu has a tough d and is home...those are toss ups (imo)
when do you guys play them both? i ask because isnt there a chance ya get ryan back later in the season? plus, the later you play them the better (to give the younger guys some valuable experience..
Green came from an offense that runs the power I, and wanted to play in college in the power I.
Second, speed is the least important major attribute from the rb position. You must have missed the four years hart carried the ball.
did i hear correctly he graduated in 3 yrs?
if true, that's pretty impressive (must be a smart kid!)
Michigan houses PSU this year. 20+ point victory. Mark it down.
MSU will always be tough in EL under Dantonio. But their DL is lacking, to put it nicely. This will be the first Michigan team since Carr was coaching to push MSU around. Not to mention Michigan's rediscovery of the forward pass. You're giving MSU too much credit here. Yes, every road game in the BIG is losable, but I don't see this one as a toss-up.
How is MSU going to score against us? Or anybody for that matter? They will not be too challenging IMO.
People said that last year though. After MSU had a couple of lackluster performances at the beginning of the season, people wrote them off, and everybody thought we'd curbstomp them. We only won from a last second FG.
I don't think we lose, but I'm not counting them out.
