He's as big as Lewan. I think it will take a few games for the OL to gel as a unit, but the only serious challenge we have in the first half of the season is ND. If we get by that one, look out!
I'm guessing the starting OL will be:
Lewan (6'8" 308 lbs)
Braden (6'6" 314 lbs)
Miller (6'4" 291 lbs)
Kalis (6'5" 297 lbs)
Schofield (6'7" 303 lbs)
AVG (6'6" 302.6 lbs)

I've consistently heard that the knock on Miller is that he just couldn't gain the weight necessary to really bulk up. Fortunately, it doesn't look like we'll have that problem with Kugler. When our RS FR guards weigh as much as our SR tackles, you can tell we're building up a HUUUGE OL for future years. When the 2012 OL class is all SRs, that line should average 6'6" 310-315 across the board.
That is now...Miller and Kalis and still gain weight/muscle before August. I wouldn't count out Bryant either. If he loses some weight, he could be in the mix as well.

What's the story with Bryant, Is he hurt?
Agree. It's going to be a sick OL for many years. I realize everyone likes to compare themselves to Bama right now, but it really will be very Bama-like.
He's been hurt and that slowed his development. It also caused him to add a bunch of bad weight. He's healthy now (I think) and has been losing the weight. Not sure exactly where he is development-wise, but Kugler's going to challenge for the starting OC job as early as 2014 so the window is closing for Bryant. IMO he needs to show a lot of progress this year to remain in the mix to become a starter. I suppose he could move to OG depending on his development, but there's a lot of competition at OG too.
Bryant played in the spring game.
He must be healthy then. Which group was he in? And was he playing OC?

I believe it was guard with the second string. The coaches were constantly changing things. I am looking for work to Mgoblog putting out an UFR on the gamw.
You answered my question. Glad to see that position become one of complete strength and future domination.
We don't know this to be certain though, because honestly the interior Oline looked very shaky at best in the Spring Game.
Do we have any writers that cover the team? I was really hoping for some feedback and analysis about the spring.
I like how rivals breaks down the positions and predictions for the up coming season and depth chart.
