Sucks to hear about Cornell dude.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
Thanks man. It is what it is, I guess. Just gotta move on and find a new prospective home for the next 4 years.
Sounds like Miami of Ohio is a solid option, though.
It is, but I'd rather go to Michigan if given the chance. We'll just have to wait and see, though.
Did you get your COD disk back?
You could always transfer in. I did that to A&M. Nah, I'm going to Dallas tomorrow to get it, though.
I was offered the chance to transfer into Cornell, but I'm really not into taking a risk like that to get rejected and stuck at a college I don't want to be at. I think my chances at Michigan may be a little better than I'm making them out to be, but I'm not sure. I was deferred by Northeastern originally, which has more selective admissions than Michigan, and got in, plus I have alumni connections to Michigan.
We'll have to play Saturday if you want, I'll be gone all of next week though.
Yeah, you just have to decide where you want to go. You can pretty much transfer anywhere, if you can make the grades. Just keep in touch with your academic advisor at whatever school you choose and they should be able to help you.
I won't be back in town until Sunday night. It's Easter weekend and one of my best friends is having his baby this weekend, so I'll be in Dallas all weekend.
I'm thinking right now that I'm just going to push really hard and possibly get my MBA from Cornell after undergrad. But that's a loooooong way down the road.
Shit, that doesn't work then. Have fun in Dallas though!
Oh man, the pregame routines. A freshman once forgot to tap the sign above the door as we walked out of the locker room, we lost the game, and the kid ran for an hour after the game.
I would counsel against transferring into Cornell. So much of the bonding at Cornell is based around making friends in your freshman dorm and the subsequent rush process (1/3 of the campus is greek) so it's very hard to integrate well into the social scene if you transfer in. One of the things I didn't like about Cornell is that there's also a stupid elitist attitude towards transfers - the transfer housing is all in one place, so it's easy to tell who's a transfer, and an annoying number of kids who got in straight out of high school think they're better than transfers.
Glad to hear you got a good amount of aid from Miami though.
I was told that's how some of the people act towards the kids in the SUNY programs as well. I guess they don't realize that some sections of the SUNY programs are actually harder to get into than regular Cornell programs, just cheaper for in-state kids.
I don't plan on transferring from the school I choose out of high school though, unless something pretty life altering occurs.
Thanks! Miami is slowly making themselves a better and better option as the days go by. I could go to Miami for a year and pay the same amount as it would cost me to go to Northeastern.
hahaha just an hour? that deserves at least that and some. On my hockey team there were fines for whoever fucked up. like if you took a shit on our charter bus you got fined $100 lol

Boy, he looks like an upstanding citizen, and totally not like a guy who'll join the Aryan Nation in prison.
Danny DeKeyser to the Red Wings!
11 National Titles | 42 Conference Titles | 3 Heisman Winners | 78 All-Americans | 37 College Hall of Fame Members
Who is this? Not as up to date on my Red Wing hockey as normal.

Big defensemen from WMU. 23 years old.
Every team in the NHL wanted him and he decided to stay home and play for his favorite team.
It would have been terrible to lose him. We had to pick him up. Great move, hopefully he can contribute sooner rather than later.
Rejected by Michigan. Not going to lie about it, I'm extremely fucking pissed about it. Got told my whole life that if you work hard, you'll be rewarded for it. I worked my ass off the last four years to get in to Michigan and nope, that isn't happening. FUCK.
Pulling an all nighter and drinking my ass off by myself

I have post #10000
Sorry to hear that man. If it makes you feel any better, I would have been rejected as well.
