That's repulsive. I try to look at these situations as the parent of a 17 year old. First, how would I feel if my daughter was the victim? And second, how would I feel if my daughter threatened the victim? Either way, it makes me sick to my stomach. Kids are dumb sometimes. Parents have a tendency to be even dumber, on occasion.
This whole Steubenville situation is really sad. I've been following it since the beginning, and some of the details sicken me.
I can't read or watch that kind of stuff. It enrages me.
Then definitely don't read about this case.
The details are fucked up in and of themselves, and the media coverage has been awful. CNN has been talking about how these rape allegations "ruined the promising careers of these young men." Seriously? Jesus. No concern for the victim at all.
Some of the tweets from people in and around Steubenville make me want to vomit.
Oh, and the coach needs to be fired yesterday.
I read an article about the flak CNN is taking. Good. As far as I'm concerned, the media doesn't take enough heat for the garbage they air/print. The CNN reporter was fawning all over these "poor boys whose lives have been ruined." To hell with them for raping a girl.
I will sacrifice every waking moment of freedom I have if someone did anything like that to my daughter.
Hey guys, I found a picture of Due!
. Eerily similar.
Reading a lot of whining coming from the East Lansing area, moaning about the proposed new division. more proof thay Delaney and the ADs doing are everything they can to keep Sparty down.
In all fairness, they really can kiss any future chances at a B1G championship goodbye. Michigan and OSU are hard enough to get through, and once PSU returns to power, they're done.
Yeah...I saw quite a few references to them wanting to take the Boise St. route. Play in the less difficult West division, "dominate" it, and then only have to "get up" for 1-2 big games a season.
Even if MSU was in the other division they would just lose in the conference championship game anyway.
As you astutely point out, it's a bit of a stretch for them to imagine that they'll be dominating anything, but it's just hilarious that they think they'd even be able to do well in that type of a format. "Getting up" for 1-2 big games/year isn't as easy as it sounds, especially when the other teams are battle-hardened from playing in a tougher division. (There's a reason the SEC West just beats the hell out of the East).
Either way, that's the coward's way out. If MSU wants to play with the big boys, the least they can do is actually agree to play in a tough division.
This is true. They did a great job at blowing their one and only chance at a B1G championship and a BCS game.
Get the fuck out of here.
And that's that.
Edit: Well I thought that was it. Mods? What the hell is taking so long?

Well, that was fun. Whats-his-face just wore out his welcome.
He gone like Se'Von Pittman.
Like Terrelle Pryor.
We could go on for a while, couldn't we?
Looks like I'll be hearing back from BU really soon!
