  • I've gone thru all the visitors highlight films that I could....and other than McQuay....if we do have a commit this weekend....I really want it to be Derek Kief. pray

    I think you need to relook your conclusion. If the statement is wrong it certainly DOES NOT mean "it most likely isn't Westphal or Mone". It may not be one of them, but it certainly isn't because of the "logic" you applied to his statement.

    Aquaman knowing they were visiting doesn't change the possibility it is, for example, the tight end out of Lapeer. It would simply be an incorrect statement by the original author and maybe the statement Aquaman was referring to.

    Actually, yes, I barely studied for the LSAT, so you're correct about that part.

    However, allow me to explain the logic to you: If only one statement is wrong, the rest are correct. Therefore, if a statement other than "it most likely isn't Westphal or Mone" is the incorrect statement, then that means "it most likely isn't Westphal or Mone" is correct.

    I'm not sure how I could explain that in even simpler terms, but if you still don't understand the logic, I'll be glad to try.

    In the absence of any qualifying words, it is a safe (albeit not formally logical) assumption that Steve meant only 1 of the statements is incorrect. I think it's just common sense that Steve wouldn't make a post like that if his real meaning was "Well, there's one wrong statement...of course, there are also two/three/four wrong statements as well, but there's at least one!"

  • The statement that was false is that Steve didn't know the two were visiting. He tweeted about adding 2 more recruits to the list the night before it was confirmed by Webb. The tweet was November 8th at 11:01 PM but then he re-tweeted the same statement the next morning so this may be causing some confusion. That statement is definitely false. Although others could be false I'm not going to claim any to be true or false.

    I think that's a little harsh, after all he did say "watch", He didn't go all whatshisname on 247 claiming he knew for sure player x would commit. To be fair, TVH heard similar whispers and has since backed off. Kid has made great inroads with a lot of prospects and even has press passes so he's not like ace will pulling fast ones. I do think tremendous may hold off on stating anything commit worthy until its been confirmed through solid multiple sources. He will learn like Tom has.

    Tremendous wrote this on FRIDAY on his Facebook page:

    ``I've (not surprisingly) had a lot of questions on the commitment watch tweet I sent out yesterday. Two things:

    There are no guarantees. Think of it as a Tornado Watch or something along those lines IE the conditions are favorable for a commitment.

    The last four times I've mentioned the words recruit watch resulted in Henry Poggi, Channing Stribling (a commitment we broke), Michael Ferns and Denzel Ward. It's not something we take lightly. I hate being wrong, but I hate letting the readers down even more.

    The recruit I am referring to is someone I talked to personally last night. They indicated that Michigan is definitely their favorite school and that they're considering committing tomorrow. I was also given good information on this beforehand, which is what sparked me to contact the player in the first place. So that's that. You're aware that stuff like that stays anonymous in respect to the player unless otherwise noted, which was the case with Stribling who said we could pre-announce his commitment.``

    And people tell me I am too 'worked up' about recruiting ...? Who cares. If it was a 2013 commit I would be filled with more anxiety. But for a 2014 recruit that has 15 months till NSD? Nope.
