Cole Talks Michigan Commitment

Newest 2014 commitment Mason Cole talks about why Michigan was an easy decision for him, and his plans to recruit his teammates to the Wolverines.

  • Do work, Mason.. I'll go crazy if we even get one of Scott or Campbell.

  • "Out of any school that has recruited me, they're the only commitments who ever reached out to me or made any kind of contact with me,"

Let that quote be a lesson to anyone who says having a recruiter like Morris, Ferns, or Speight doesn't really matter. Brady Hoke and the staff are doing just an incredible job of getting top talent into the Michigan family. Talk about cohesiveness - these guys are building chemistry a year and a half before they hit campus!

EDIT: BTW, great article Steve, love seeing it.

  • It's ridiculous that he's the 62nd best player in the country and the EIGHTH best in Florida. That's absurd.

    I agree.

Obviously kids like Morris, Ferns, Speight, Dawson, etc are special kinds of kids to be able to reach out to other prospects and recruit them, but I think a lot of credit has to be given to Brady Hoke because you can tell how much he wants the players to be a family and reach out to the other potential prospects. He's really the driving force behind it.

Yeah, this is one ridiculously stocked class coming out of Florida. Hopefully we can pick up at least one more FL kid from this cycle.

That quote really stood out to me too, definitely speaks to the high quality character guys the coaches are targeting and bringing in. Well done to Ferns and Speight, very glad to have them on board and doing work.

I'd say McDermott is a non-factor for Michigan. He will be a Miami/ND battle all the way.

yik, just felt like having 3 names and he seemed more likely than Clark...has the requisite disdain for Ohio in any event lol

As we are Michigan - The Leaders and the Best, watch everyone else try and copy us. Heck ... maybe even Sparty might learn a thing or two about recruiting from our guys. Then again .....
