Honestly, I wrote off the series as a loss as soon as Jeter went down. Considering Jeter and Ibanez have been the only consistent hitters this entire postseason, losing half of that hurts like hell. On top of that, the psychological effect of losing the captain when the team already entered the playoffs on a downslide is just going to kill the team. They've been playing without any life or heart, and they're not about to turn that around without Jeter.

Dude. Come on. What the hell is the point of this post? Do you really need to be a dick and kick me while I'm already down?
I'm not trying to make excuses for losing. The Yankees hitters have been absolutely beyond miserable. The Tigers pitching (with the exception of Valverde) has been excellent. However, if you don't think that losing Jeter has a massively significant psychological effect on the rest of the team, you don't know baseball, and you certainly don't know the Yankees.
