One of your players? What? When? Who was it?

Stonum the WR who got kicked off the team about a month ago because he kept making dumb decisions.

Story is Meyer called him and told him the Carr didn't want him and that he should go to Florida. Stonum called Carr and Carr told him that was a bunch of crap.

You learned that some OSU guys were getting free tats and Tressel didn't forward an email about it. I know it's fun to turn it into "OSU is guilty of rampant cheating over the last decade" but that's not what the facts seem to warrant. They had some pretty major violations in that situation, but it was the actions of about 5-6 people, and if those players didn't get free tattoos, absolutely nothing would have changed on the field.

The Tats thing is no big deal. Now where the cheating thing comes into play and what most of you Bucks seem to ignore is that Tressel played guys he knew should be ineligibile. You can say what you want but that gives you an edge on the field. That is a big deal. A head coach should never and i mean never look the other way in regards to violations that could/would make players ineligible.

Exactly. OSU got slapped with a failure to monitor which is one of the biggest charges a school can face behind lack of institutional control.

  • Most people acknowledge that every school has infractions.' Bowden was asked if it is possible to run a program cleanly, to which Bowden replied, without hesitation, "No."'. Tressel is a decent man; and to totally dismiss all his hard work and success is wrong.

Just like extra practice is a competitive advantage and UM got slapped with FTM and probation. Time to move along folks.

We actually didn't get charged because of extra practice time, it was the fact that we didn't keep track of our stretching/practice time under RR but keep on acting like you know what happened.

Not keeping track of stretching time that enables more practice time. It's the same thing. Call it what you want to make yourself ok but it was a major violation and the NCAA acted accordingly. What Tressel did was worse and the NCAA acted accordingly. I just have a problem with the high and mighty attitude like UM is such a clean program. Fab Five ... cough cough.

That was the only time that we've ever been charged with anything for football, nice try though, if only we could operate a clean program like you've got in Columbus. Smh.

Is this the same Stonum who LIED to his Probation officer and a Judge? Now, if Coach Carr came out and verified the story, I might believe it.

Whoa friend. I never said that you were making it up. I am casting some serious doubt on Stonum's version of events. He is a rock solid proven liar according to his Probation Officer and a Judge. So I just doubt that what he said happened actually happened. I have a lot of respect for Coach Carr though. If he came out and verified the story, that would be different.

LOL like Meyer doesn't have a history of misleading recruits. Just go talk to some of the Florida guys about Meyer. They will tell you.

Do you have any proof that he lied? They are mad that he left Florida.

Just like a ton of recruits have said so. If you don't want to believe all the things former players and recruits have said about Meyer that is your business. Just don't expect non Buckeyes to believe that Meyer is some saint.

Ask literally any SEC fan. There was a great thread on tBB about all the recruits he lied to during his time at Florida. I never follow SEC recruiting so I don't know them off the top of my head, but please start a thread on tBB asking if Meyer ever lied to a recruit. They'll have stories for you

  • I must say, i have actually spoken to recruits the Urban Meyer has recruited. All they ever told me was how great of a guy he was and as a coach. So I will believe me 1st hand sources over your he said she said.

I don't because I dont care enough to find it. but they have proof with interviews and testimonies.

But you can go along thinking your coach is a saint

You're talking about stories from student-athletes- it's hearsay no matter where you hear it from (even the source). What kind of "proof" are you looking for? loco

    IncredibleHoke7

  • There are also scumbag recruiting methods that don't amount to flat out lying. He told a recruit he believed God wanted Meyer to coach him and sent him a dream about coaching him on the sidelines. I have no respect for that kind of cynical appeal to a player's religious beliefs.

I never said he was a saint. I also don't believe that he is a scumbag either. I do believe that a lot of people hate him because he is a winner and a great recruiter. Look at PSU. They are throwing all kinds of accusations against Meyer because he took a lot of great players from them. No facts, just butthurt accusations. Heck, we just had 2 B1G Head Coaches and 1 AD accuse Meyer of B.S. and it turns out to be more butthurt comments and not facts.

That was debunked by Floyd himself.
