I feel bad for all the media attending these press conferences. It was clear from Day 1 that Hoke wasn't going to divulge any real information during these things, so for all the great questions asked, we really don't learn anything. "He's fine" is the response on new injuries, "He's getting better" is the answer on how injuries are progressing, and the depth chart stays the exact same.
Nothing close to the Mike Leach pressers where he may end up ranting about "fat little girlfriends."

Ok, but what is wrong with using both, especially when Fitz is struggling? In the Alabama game, we were doing fairly well against Eddie Lacy so Saban changed things up and put in TJ Yeldon ... and he gashed us. It's not rocket science. Each has different skills and talents. And every player has his on days and his off days. Rotate them both and if one gets particularly hot go ahead and ride him. I'm also sick and tired of everyone blaming our lackluster running game (sans Denard) on the OL. Some of it is Fitz dancing and looking for the perfect hole instead of just running over people. Rawls showed again on Saturday that running over people can be very effective when done with the right attitude and brute force.

1. Yeldon was a high 4 star/5 star true freshman who was already going to get snaps.
2. Rawls got his snaps against bama and showed the same happy feet as fitz
3. Rawls performed against purdue's back ups on D.What's tiring is fans ready to yank players PT because they aren't seeing fireworks on every snap. fans wanted to bench denard, bench fitz, bench gallon on punts, earlier in the season it was bench roundtree.
Fact is the coaches have proven that they don't hesitate to play the guy who is performing well enough to warrant snaps. Just be patient folks and don't be so quick to make changes. We are 3-2, lost to the best team in the country and beat ourselves by 7 to ND. The coaches are playing smith so it's not like they aren't sharing carries, perhaps there are other concerns such as pass protection, who knows? Chemistry and execution is vital to our success and the coaches have an ear to what is best right now.

So if Rawls was ranked higher you would play him? TJ Yeldon's recruiting ranking is irrelevant. And you need to work on your reading comprehension. No one said anything about yanking anyone. Toussaint wasn't born with the God given right to take snaps ahead of Rawls or anyone else. He has played in every game this year (except the one he was suspended for) and his performance has been mediocre. It has been nothing close to how he was running at the end of last season. Is some of that a function of OL play? Certainly. But some is also on Fitz. In comparison, when Rawls has gotten into the game (which is rarely) he has been effective. Maybe you believe that's only because he's running against backups, but I don't. And there's a very easy way to find out ... put him in against the starters. Sitting him on the bench and not even giving him a shot accomplishes nothing.
Edit: And Smith is an entirely different style of RB. That has nothing to do with Fitz v. Rawls.

Don't read into the obvious. Yeldon like funchess get snaps because they warrant the snaps to be on the field, stars has nothing to do with it. I assume you follow coll football not just UM, if u do you would know my point was yeldon was outshining all backs through the spring and fall for bama, so it wasn't us shutting down lacy that got yeldon on the field. I said fans want to take PT away from players, I didn't call you out specifically, don't get so sensitive. I also said the coaches are playing the guys who deserve to be on the field, they have demonstrated that regardless of stars or yrs on the team, the best 11 at the time play. They dont have special rules for anyone, including fitz. Thus if Rawls isn't in yet must be a reason we aren't readily seeing.

I can see and read. I watched the game and read the stat sheet. Nothing in either forms of information showed Fitz to be unquestionably the better option as many have stated, in fact quite the opposite IMO.
Rawls deserves more carries! This isn't a one week thing we have had poor production from the running back position all year. The only game that should of been expected in was Bama IMO.

I agree with alot in this, but the caveat with Rawls is it limits the play selection for Denards running game. The whole zone read bs is predicated with Fitz or Smith, and im not sure that they have worked Rawls into that formation. That formation is responsible for much of Denards success. But I think Rawls would be easy to transition in that set as a lead blocker...or start in that formation then audible to an under center snap and for a more traditional down hill run play with Rawls.

Fine. Make up your own reasoning why Saban played Yeldon. It's irrelevant. The point is he played both Lacy and Yeldon. In fact, he also played Hart and another RB too. It's ok to play multiple backs. And that is all I said in my original post. I did not say stop playing Fitz. I said play both. They both have different talents and one might be more effective in a partifular game than the other. That's what I wrote and you threw a hissy fit.

You getting all amped over cyber dialogue, relax---breathe. all I'm doing is providing a context that would possibly explain why Rawls is not getting carries. There is an old economics proverb that asks if you find a dollar on the floor do you pick it up?...depending on your perspective the answer could be no because if it was worth anything someone would've picked it up already.
My point is let's look at facts. Starting last yr, whether on O or D the coaches have clearly shown that they play the best 11. If a kid deserves snaps, whether it was black last yr, or funchess this yr, the guy will get his snaps. If someone is not, perhaps there is a reason...missed assignments, poor pass blocking, fumbles, not finishing runs all could be reasons why rawls isnt getting in. All of these things could be seen in practice. So for you to say Rawls should definitely be in based on runs he got against the 2nd team Purdue defense tells me you know something the coaches don't. Like the dollar example above, if having Rawls split carries with fitz was such a great idea the coaches would've done it already. Maybe Rawls will show what the coaches need to see this week but my point was obviously he isn't doing or showing something the coaches need to see to this point
