This offense does not have weapons on it... Sure, a better QB may make them look better, but the reality is, their isn't a better QB on the team than Denard and last night showed that and then some... Denard gives us the best shot to win but how does Borges utilize him better??? Run him more??? Then what you get is Denard on the sideline for the 2nd half... Its a double edged sword... You let Denard try to manage the game and not turn it over while keeping his jersey somewhat clean... Then let the D take care of the rest... Michigan was chewing up the clock and heading to take the lead 10-7 when Denard left... I have no doubt that Michigan would have been in it until the end with Denard playing and at this point, that is all we can ask Borges to do with the weapons he has(or doesn't have)

The lack of carries by Rawls is a headscratcher, but maybe we just don't have all the information we need to understand the decision. And it's not like Borges operates in a vacuum. He and Hoke must have discussed it and Hoke must be on board with how Borges is using the RBs. If Hoke wanted Rawls to play more, he would be playing more. I don't understand why he's not, but at this point in the season you have to assume it's a conscious choice to play Fitz almost exclusively and Hoke agrees with it.

I've heard, similar to the Hayes situation, that Rawls can't hold on to the ball at practice. As we all know these coaches are infatuated with protecting the ball (more so than gaining yards?..) No matter the case I think Rawls should get more carries in game situations until he either proves the coaches wrong or backs up their assessments.
Fred Jackson referred to him as Mike Hart with greater top-end speed. Either that's bullshit, or our coaches are too stubborn to try something new. I'd like to think it isn't the latter.

I can't stand what Borges is doing on offense this year. The read option does not need to be as much east west as Michigan is making it this year. A couple weeks ago I went back and watched some of the highlights from last year and Fitz was used much more north and south in the read option play. It worked so much better.
I love the pass plays Borges has been calling the last couple of weeks. Not as many playfakes and not making Denard throw on the run. I think Denard has looked better throwing the ball the last few weeks. However, we need more first down passing. Getting Denard into 3rd and 6 constantly before we throw the ball is a recipe for not scoring points. We don't need to run Denard more, what Borges needs to do is to become more balanced in his playcalling.
And i agree with everyone who has said we are very predictable. Borges needs to figure something out in this regard.

BORGES IS A GENIUS
Seriously though, I gave Borges a lot of crap last week for the debacle that was the Nebraska game. However, it seems with a competent passing quarterback, the guy might actually be pretty good at it.

I'm still not a Borges fan, it seems more like he just relies on being more talented than the other team. More times than not, I knew what plays Michigan was about to run based on the situation, the formation, and the personnel.
Although I will admit, that if he can build on this next week my opinion may change, not that it matters anyways.
