Bo Ryan is getting hammered about the transfer issue

I guess he doesn't watch football at his own school.
He actually pulled the "if you played" thing on Mike Greenberg.
Ryan: I understand this is a scholarship. When they sign the scholarship there is fine print that is very readable. If you played, you would at least understand what I'm talking about...

I just don't understand how a coach doesn't see that transfers are PR minefields. Stick up for your principles and all that, but after the Derek Dooley/Anthony Arnett situation and the Charlie Weis/Kansas QB that I don't remember situation, coaches who make a stink about a transfer rarely come out smelling of roses even if (as with Weis) the coach is in the right.

guy from CBS tweeted that Beilein wouldn't let Smotrycz transfer to the B1G or any future opponents for the next 2 years

That seems reasonable. Bo Ryan has just lost it though. Why exclude ACC schools? Wisconsin football got a QB from NC State and a QB from Maryland.

He is excluding the ACC because of the B1G-ACC Challenge. I have no problem with what is happening with this situation. It's not like the guy will not be able to play for a good program because of the teams excluded.

So, Wisconsin will play 1 of 12 teams from the ACC. Makes sense to exclude all of them, then?
Is Bo Ryan that much of a wuss that he can't roll the dice on a .08333333 chance of facing the kid in a non-conference game?

inevitable
i think no inconference transfers or anyone on the schedule for the rest of his eligibility seems legit, but thats me, i only played juco ball, not sure i count under Bo Ryan's "played"

Exactly. I don't think an exception should be made for any team that you can have on your upcoming schedule.
