The kid is a baller.
The only down side is that a freshman is the best CornerBack on the team.

I'm just saying. I don't see this type of production from them if they were coached under the last regime.
It basically means this staff knows how to develop and teach the game of football.
Which is a good feeling after the past 3 years.

Was Leon as small as Countess when he was a freshman. Countess looks tiny out there at his 160lbs. He does tackle pretty well though for being that light. I am hoping and praying Yuri Wright comes here and him and Countess are the starting corners next year.

I think that's what impresses me the most about him. It seems like he always gets to his guy, and always makes the tackle. After the last few years of our DBs flailing uselessly at ankles, it's a breath of fresh air to see sure tacklers.
Oh, and yeah, I think Hall was around 170 or 175 as a freshman, and bulked up after that.

Oh for sure that is what is impressive about him. Can't wait to see Blake hit the weight room and put on some muscle weight and become an even more physical corner.

Agreed here, Countess is going to be a baller. His instincts and tackling ability are very good for being a True Freshman. Can't wait till see him as a Junior.

I think when Smith graduates Hoke will give him #2 if he keeps this up. I mean he's only a freshman doing this

Woolfolk is really a safety playing corner. Countess is very solid and now I can see why the coaches want another corner, especially when a true freshman is the best one on the team.

IMO Thomas Gordon plays the safety position better than Troy.

I have to agree with this. I think Gordon gives us a better presence deep than Woolfolk does. I have a feeling though that maybe the coaches feel Woolfolk covers the areas better, but I think Gordon does better.

Not to mention that one-handed INT against eastern. It was right in front of me too. Ever since Troy hurt his ankle he hasn't been the same. I mean I'd feel kind of bad if he was benched as a 5th year senior, who came back from rehab from that broken ankle, but I think T.Gordon needs to be played more. Besides, wasn't T.Gordon supossed to be the starter and Woolkfolk would be in the nickel?

Agreed - love Woolfork's leadership, but he hasn't played all that well lately.

Woolfolk has problems tackling. Takes bad angles and isn't the most physical. Was fine as a CB but injuries have slowed him down too much for CB. Would much rather see Gordon out there, I thought he had played pretty good all year.
