Bill Kurelic Report

"What could be better for a Buckeye fan than to hear than the OSU staff beating Michigan to the recruiting punch in the Wolverines’ backyard."

Who you think that's referring to? Damon Webb?

Anybody else think it's ironic that he is referring to something Michigan does every year?

Webb and Malik McDowell are both heavily being pursued by OSU. Neither are close to making decisions though, so not sure what he'd be talking about beating to the punch since Michigan has offered both and are heavily pursuing them too.

2016 RB Matt Falcon from Southfield. Currently only hearing from MSU and OSU. No offer has been made by either shools.

Sorry not trying to troll, just letting you know who it was, and the details.

Rumors say Snodgrass tried to commit to OSU and we wouldn't let it happen. Then we hear he tried to verbal to ND and they wouldn't let it happen either.

Why is getting in as early as possible ever a bad thing? The other schollie they offered was to Nick Bosa, Joey's brother.

Because the kid could commit on the spot and end up not developing physically or just not being good at football.

In addition, if you lock in an 8th grader and ignore other top prospects, you can miss out if the kid does not develop. From what I remember, development is huge between 10-11th grade, no?

We didn't offer, just reached out to let him and his coach now we are interested. Not a big fan but OSU is putting out a lot of non commitatable offers to kids.

I understand where you're coming from with that but like I said the one offer is to Nick Bosa brother of Joey Bosa, a current 2013 commit. Nick is a current freshman with rivals listing him at 6'2'' and 215lbs. I'm not sure the size of the other person we have offered a schollie to, or if we have other than Nick but with the size of Nick and the workhorse that his older brother Joey happens to be, it really seems like a longshot that he won't develop. He also played as a freshman on a powerhouse of a team in St. Thomas Aquinas.

Shutt attempted to commit to UM last year and you guys said no, I understand that was a little different bc he wasn't a need based on your situation at DT but it happens at most big time programs.

He is a 6'0" 192 all purpose back. He already has the physical attributes to run between the tackles.

I actually agree with the UM guys on this, you just don't know what a kid will look like in 3/4 years. What if he grows into a 6'4" 250 DE and doesn't project well to the next level because he looses to much athleticism or doesn't have the mentality to play on defense etc. With that said it doesn't really matter bc the kid couldn't commit even if he had an offer. We are just getting are foot in the door.

This^^^^ exactly why. It doesn't matter how big a kid is, or how fast he is they are in 8th grade. If a big school offers that early it goes to the kids head, he thinks he is a rock star. This leads to poor work ethic, conceited attitude, and not reaching their perceived potential. Offering kids that early is pretty risky imo.
