Best Green/Smith Comparison

I say the combination of Green, Smith, and Shallman compares to the ancient Roman 'Archaic Triad' of Jupiter, Mars, and Quirinus.

Shallman is Quirinus because they both are the lesser known of the three, but still an intricate part. Quirinus is often associated with a spear, which like Shallman is deadly at short distances, but not a huge threat from further out.

Smith is Mars because he is commonly known, but not as famous as Jupiter. Mars is the god of war and is known for his brute force, just as Smith has a violent running style where he just runs through players with ease.

Green is Jupiter, the most notable of all the gods. Jupiter is the god of thunder, which if you watch Green's film, he's like a lightning bolt, exploding through the hole and blowing past arm tackles. Most lightning bolts are relatively straight just like Green's running style, he doesn't dance around, he goes north-south as soon as possible.

All three will compliment each other excellently because even though they all base their running style off power, they each have their own way to go about it, making it very difficult to defend.

    Profound clap

  • Green is most comparable to Ingram, although I"m not sure about Smith yet....I see him as a Chris Floyd/Chris Howard combination at the moment...but Green : Ingram is spot on

Ugh. Every time I hear Ingram's name, I'm reminded that RichRod let a Heisman Trophy winner go out of state.

Was he even considering Michigan? Sparty left him out of the state also. I think his coach had a relationship with Saban from when he coached at MSU, so he was pretty close to Saban to begin with.

The Rivals article about his commitment says he came down to a top-3 of Alabama, Iowa, and Michigan State, in that order, so Michigan wasn't in it at the end. The article also mentions that he's a Michigan State legacy, so its possible he never considered us at all. Will look for more.

edit: his main page on Rivals says he didn't even have a Michigan offer, so he definitely fell completely through RichRod's cracks.

RichRod screwed up a lot of things, but Ingram was not one of them. He wasn't hired until December of that recruiting cycle and to that point, Lloyd and Fred Jackson hadn't made an offer to him. They had McGuffie and Mike Cox already committed by the time RichRod was hired. Ingram wanted to get out of the state because of his dad's issues (on trial or starting/serving a jail sentence) which was why he opted to head down to Bama.

Plus, Fred Jackson knows the Flint area so he would've been the one telling Lloyd and Rich whether to offer a kid in his position group from that area, IMO. Maybe that miss was why he pushed so hard for Rawls?

its so weird to be talking with a um fan about the browns...

on one hand (osu/um) we are hated rivals, but when we talk browns, we are allies...

    pretty cool!

so how did we (ohioans) lose you to the wolverine fan base?

When i was 5 i lived next door to the local High School star football player..so my dad took me to watch him play..they wore winged helmets and the band played Hail to the victors..so later that year i watched The Game with my old man who is die hard Buckeye..but at 5 i seen the winged helmets and thought my neighbor would play for them when he got older..and the super fan was born..Dad did keep me with the Browns though thus making NFL football a heart wrenching misery for me..one day though, one day
