Berkley Edwards one of top players at LSU camp

if that happens it will be after norfleet and edwards leave college. i don't see anything happening in the next 5 years

Hell, it's already happening. Kickoffs have been moved up 5 yards and touchbacks come out the 25 now. Going to be a lot less returns now.

yeah, but moving it up 5 yards and getting rid of it completely is different. what happens if the other team scores and goes up 1 point with 1 second left. your best chance of winning that game is taking one to the house on a kick return. your chance of scoring off a kick return are much better than starting off at the 20 yard line with one second on the clock. its a huge part of the game. I don't think they can take it away.

Not a whole lot different. THe entire purpose of the rule change was to discourage teams from returning kicks, and that is what it will do. There was originally a good balance where kick off returns on average would get a team out somewhere about the 20 yard line.

That balance is completely gone, and it simply won't make sense for teams to return kicks. Michigan may not see the scenario you describe all year long, and will likely have a single digit number of kick returns this year. In the future, Sippinwhiskey will play a much greater role on special teams than any of the quick backs on the roster.

green, vhlll, allen, fuller, muhammad and bailey.

Those guys are not coming here... I put it at LT, 50% on LM3, pre BBQ 2% for Green or someone else (Edwards,Gibbs)

that's why i put them from 1& to 99%. just throwing names in that has any interest even if we have a 1% chance with them. looks like the final 2 spots are gonna go to one of those 11 guys, with some of them being long shots like vhlll, fuller and bailey

    Either way, stellar class

I think we have a better shot than Green than you are giving us credit for. I'm not saying we have a great shot or we're the favorite or anything of that nature but there is a very real chance that he could be coming here and that is before he gets to sit down 1-on-1 with Brady.

As far as Berkley is concerned, we already have carbon copies of him in Norfleet and Hayes. If he really wants to be here his brother should pick up the tab and he could walk on, of course there are too many egos involved all around for that to happen but I really think that's the only way he's coming here.

IF we land Laquon and strike out on the rest of the guys then we need to be on the phone with Delano Hill with a scholly offer ASAP (honestly I want him more than anybody but LT, Green, or LMIII, Hill is going to be a stud and I would like it to be for us). I honestly do think that we get one of LMIII or Hill and our secondary is going to be flatout NASTY in the upcoming years. I'm really damn excited about what this defense has the potential to do once they get all this talent on the field. We are going to be deep, tough, and incredibly versatile. Brady/Borges/Mattison are the best things to happen to UM since Woodson and that '97 season.

Ego's? Kid has division 1 scholarships to schools like Cal and Minnesota and some of you want the kids family to pay his way here? Delusional and just ignorant. I like Berkley, but there is just no room... it's really that simple. No need for people whine about him not getting in the class by finding a way to make room or people to whine about why his family should pay his own way. He will have a good career wherever he goes and he will create his own path.

He's not complaining. He's just saying if he really wants to be here then he needs to walk on.

5%. The BBQ and meeting with BH needs to be on the close encounter of a third kind level IMO.

Probably about 30 percent at this point just based off his stated interest in Michigan.

Thanks, I didn't think what I said was that complicated. We don't need Berkley. Would he be nice to have? Sure, you can never have too much speed. Is he worth a scholarship at this point? Not a chance. If he is dying to come and play here then he can have his dad or brother pay for it and he can walk on just like Wanglers kid is planning to do (though admittedly he doesn't have as good an offer sheet but he has said that he is coming here no matter what).

  • What were his times? The article referred to impressive times. Curious what he clocked in Baton Rouge.

  • Tremendous has an article up on Colby Grant who is an all-purpose RB from Pennsylvania.

Having watched Grant's tape, I prefer him to Berkley Edwards if the last spot came down to those two which I don't think it will.

He probably wouldnt be so fast if he was Baylon's height. Physics at work on that one.

I think hes the guy that blows up his senior season

I agree; really hope he gets an offer. We're waiting on McQuay, but actually he has a very similar skill set and is right in our backyard; not to mention, he has performed extremely well at all the camps.
