I think it has to do more with the ones that he doens't really know if they are one and done. If a kid is straight up a one and done and he can plan for it then fine. When it comes as a suprise after year one or you don't really know if you have a schollie open or not then it becomes a different situation.

I posted this on the MSU board, I think your reading too much into this and or took his quote the wrong way... Basically what he is saying is he is not going to go chasing one and dones that he is not really in the running for only to lose out on some other highly talented players who he had actually had a very good chance with. It's a delicate balance, case in point James Young(Great Prospect) he is probably a one and done but Michigan's chances of getting him were slim and none... so why let a guy like Zak Irvin who really likes your school and is a very good prospect in his own right go to another big ten school just so you can chase a guy you don't really have a shot at? I think Snyders headline is misleading.
