Basketball season is almost here.

  • I know most of you guys know about it already, but feel free to join in over on The Green Board. Its slow over there right now but with the season starting up hopefully it will pick up. If you have any questions you can ask me here or send me a PM.

I know you may not want to talk basketball since your recruiting, especially in 2012, isn't going that well, but it will get better.

lol Nice to have you here, Oaken. I really look forward to this season. You think IU is gonna put together a run for the Big Ten crown?

In the next couple years yes. This year I think they will finish in the 8-10 or 9-9 range in conference. Getting a legit big man (Cody Zeller) will hopefully help free up some other people for some open shots. Mainly talking about Hulls getting those open shots, he is deadly from 3.

We definitely have the deepest conference in the country. It'd be interesting to see in 2-3 years how the best teams in the B1G match up with the big east and ACC.

no doubt. Wisconsin, OSU, and MSU are usually very strong and now Michigan is on the rise again along with Indiana. Purdue has been solid the past couple years and Tubby might have Minnesota going the right way. This league is going to be great in a couple years.

Doesn't help that the ACC is adding Pitt and Syracuse for basketball and we added Nebraska

That's what is amazing about the B1G, every other conference has 1 sport that they're known for being strong in but we're balanced in both football and basketball. Now go get Gunner Kiel back.

Football......? The B1G is the only conference who can say their best team lost two games. It's wisconsin.....and then everyone else is average. (Yes state is average because they can't do diddly-poo on the road). I'm even starting to question wisconsin for letting that greasefire of a team in ohio hang around with them and then beat them on a prayer.

But, I will say basketball, the B1G is the #2 in the nation next to the ACC.

I meant on a consistent basis. Yeah it is a down year for the B1G, but as a whole we always churn out good Bball and Football teams.

Don't forget Penn State and Nebraska. Those two teams this year should really help out the Big Ten overall. Can't discount the benefit of being able to rest your starters during conference play.
