BCS Chances

What are the chances that we get into a BCS game? Do we have to get a couple of teams to lose in order to get in?

Pretty good IMO. I can definitely see us getting shafted, but if I had to guess our bowl right now, I'd say Sugar vs. Houston.
We just have to be in the top 14 of the BCS standings, so root for anyone in the top 14 to lose.

Hell, Clemson vs. South Car. someone's got to lose. Then with next week during the championship week, I really can't see us not getting in the top 14. And Sugar Bowl...yes please...easy drive from Atlanta.
Edit: didn't realize Clemson was ranked 17th.

I would say that there's about an 80% chance that we make a BCS bowl.

It's looking like were gonna need help. LSU over Georgia and Okie State over Oklahoma looks like the only way.

I think we will only need 1 of those. There is a good chance we drop to 16 right behind Wisconsin. The loser of the Wisconsin/MSU game should drop below us and then we need 1 of Georgia or Oklahoma to lose and we are in.

I don't want to play in the sugar bowl against Houston.
Playing Houston will be like playing Boise State. It won't prove anything and we'll get ridiculed if we win or lose.

Here's a pretty good analysis from BCS guru. Michigan has to pass 2 teams and get into the BCS Top 14.

Meh, in my opinion we haven't been "back" long enough for that to really be considered.

A 9-3 MSU will not be ranked ahead of a 10-2 Michigan, neither will Baylor.

One of Wisconsin and MSU is guaranteed to lose and that will automatically move us up one spot. Then, we likely need at least one of Georgia, Oklahoma and Houston to lose. That will move us up another spot. Assuming that happens and we move into the top 14 after next weekend's games, we almost certainly will be selected as an at-large team by either the Sugar Bowl or the Fiesta Bowl.

Actually it doesn't mean a thing since it doesn't have any impact on BCS ranking.
