Christ, Jaylon Smith is going to be a nightmare for three years.

Definitely upset he never considered us, although maybe losing a real battle for him would have been worse. He's got extreme talent.

I haven't heard Jourdan Lewis' name all game.. I guess that means he is locking down his WR! flex

Yup, and he made a good tackle on DG's big run.

Mitchell going to Ohio. Must be in need of some tats.

  • Has all the physical tools then you watch his tape and not that impressed.

  • Green's stats from the game, according to Scout: 8 carries, 49 yards, good for 6.1 ypc. Henry had 53 yards on 10 carries, which is weird to me bc I felt like Jenry was used wayyy more than Green, but apparently not.

  • you guys are funny....."Urban strikes out AGAIN"....Kid has been a Louisville "lean" all year, lives in Louisville, his dad played at Louisville, not a shocker he stayed home.

We got 2 out of the 3 that were announcing this week. Still have Vonn Bell visiting and we are in the hunt.

I really wouldn't say Urbie struck out...It makes for entertaining reading though.

The 2 LB's were great pickups, but Quick was the one I least wanted to see honestly. Vonn Bell would make for an amazing secondary haul, even the way it is it's good... so glad Michigan's future is run-first lol.

No matter how you slice it, Coach Urbz got beat by Louisville. Can't bode well for the Buckeyes.

Agreed....I was more worried about Quick then their LB's they just got, plus that is a negative recruiting aspect for the 2014 LB's they are recruiting.

I now your somewhat rational robobuckeye, but according to your bretheren, Quick was a major lean and close to a lock, especially after his last visit. I will honestly give you those to LB for Quick and Bell not going to the armpit.

WTF do you think you're trying to pull here? Buckeye sources were crowing about Quick for months, you liar. GTFO of here with your bullshit.

"Buckeye sources", I wouldn't necessarily call incredibly biased fans 'sources'. The most trusted OSU recruiting info I go to is from 11w, and both of their recruiting writers both agreed that Quick was going to Louisville. Even with the reports that Quick had supposedly given OSU the lead recently, they still believed Quick would end up at Louisville. A thread titled "Quick a Buckeye lock" will get an enormous amount of pageviews because it is consonant with something that bodes well for Ohio State, so homer fans will believe it. If you have followed recruiting news, not sensationalist dribble, over the past 6 months, I think the general consensus was that Quick was going to Louisville.

I don't like this notion that recruiting battles are like a game. As if the coaches are in a head to head sprint and that the kid is standing at the finish line with his hands out seeing which coach gets there first. Sure, you want the best talent at your school, but you also want young men who WANT to go to your school. I'm happy for these recruits, they are getting a great opportunity, regardless of which school it is. Quick decides to stay home, go to a school that has tradition in his family, two things that seem to mean a lot to him. Hell, if I were able to tell him my personal opinion, I'd have told him to stay in state and go to UL.

I went to high school with Dymonte Thomas (though I'm a tad older), but I never give him grief for going to UM, even being a life OSU fan as myself. He never had the passion to go down to Columbus. He visited Michigan and liked it a lot. That's great, I couldn't be happier for the kid. And even if he sacks JT Barrett in 3 years to win The Game, I won't hold a personal grudge against him. In fact I'd be glad he saw an opportunity and capitalized it.

There's bigger things at play in these college decisions than X's and O's. I hope all college football fans, as well as the kids themselves, realize this. No need to trivialize a life decision. Sorry for my rant, I'm not sure if this was the correct place for it, but I see these type of posts by every fan base (my own most often to be honest :p).

I realize Mitch Again could be being sarcastic and mocking irrational Buckeye fans, but my point could be applied regardless.

  • I thought that Ohio State did great this weekend. The linebackers meyer got look like SEC players. Quick would have been awesome, but was never going to come to OSU unless Strong left Louisville. That looks to be a program nobody is going to want to play for a while. Roby coming back to OSU is huge! Gibson should take the place of Quick and not be much difference. They have almost the same measurables and are both full-time wrs. Bell would be a tremendous bonus.
Michigan has a really good class as well. I have heard and read some criticism that the class lacks explosive playmakers on offense. That may be inaccurate. I don't know alot about it. What I do see is that OSU and Michigan are starting to separate so far from the rest of the B1G that the game should be huge nationally again for the forseeable future. Neither one of these teams should be losing games to the rest of the conference.

Well if you go to Bucknuts before Quick announced you will see that I didn't buy into the "sources" and he would end up in Louisville. His dad went there, his sister goes there, it's his home...can't fault a kid for that.

Don't get me wrong, I would loved to have him, although we need the LB's much more right now. We had a FB starting at MLB for cryin out loud. I can't remember a time in my 48 years that OSU had such terrible depth at LB. We still have 2 or 3 other WR's or Slot players in this class so the LB pick up was huge.

But I get ya. I know a lot of Bucks were calling Quick a lock. They are still waiting on Shariff Floyd to enroll too though....

Michigan still has huge holes to fill for the starters to be compared to teams of yore (OL, DB, RB, WR). The attrition rates from the 2009 and 2010 classes are absurd, over 50% of the 2010 class is no longer with the program, and those are kids who should be atleast in the 2 deep, and contributing starters helping the cause for next year, but instead those number are with our latest recruiting classes and need a year or two to get up to speed.
