I would say that the playing field has been level or in favor to Michigan up until recently. Michigan was in on him early (was he rumored to be a silent commit or was that Wayne Morgan?). tOSU didn't come into play until urbs cut dead weight to make room for him.

I believe there was some talk along those lines. At the time, I believe we had T-Rich, Standifer, and Morgan as the silent so maybe they just talked to him about that.

Dominic Clarke wasn't dead weight, he might have started next year, he just had disciplinary issues. And cash transferred to duke for academic reasons.

I recall him not being ready to commit. I also recall a frantic tweet from T-Rich telling him to call him. At the time, as we now know, the kid was all PSU and was never coming here. It took the downfall of the program for the kid to open up his recruiting. Thats when Hoke and Urban re-entered the picture

Supposedly he's announcing on national signing day. But his twitter last night made it sound like he was thinking about announcing before that. He's done giving interviews so it's tough to tell.

Sheridan is an interesting choice...as he ever coached defensive backs before? I don't think so, but I could be wrong.
He was HORRIBLE as DC of the Giants, not that that matters.

I looked through his wiki. Looks like he's coached DB's a couple times but spent the majority of his time with LB's. But I think the exact reason we hired him was to have an NFL guy on staff that can say he coached some great NFL players. Probably in response to some of the talk about Mattison using that to his advantage. Obviously he didn't have the same success but gives us a bit of that same clout.

The 29th starts an alternating quiet/dead period, so he could go out to see him any time before that.
Personally, I don't think that would be a great idea. The Reeves family has no connection to him, and he hasn't had a chance to meet with the coaches yet to really nail down gameplans/schemes/etc. So what exactly would he talk to Armani about? What he thinks The Co-DC's are going to do? Hard to build a relationship in a couple of hours, so probably better to get him on a phone call with somebody who already knows Armani like Urban, Fickel, or Whithers to just introduce himself.

Mattison vs. Sheridan, who hasn't stepped on campus yet and worked for Michigan before? Not exactly the type of closer I am worried about. If Reeves is going to choose OSU, Sheridan is not going to be the deciding factor.

I liked Sheridan as a coach at Michigan, did a fine job. But the clout you speak of is like comparing apples to oranges. Mattison is CLEARLY the ALL STAR GUY who knows Meyer like a book. Meyers concerns should be Mattison educating the Michigan staff how Meyer works, methods and logic. Including how Meyer works his lies and miss-truths. This information will be valuable in our recruiting efforts.
Rest assured we will not speak ill of Meyer, his staff and program. But we will know how to act, react and proceed in our recruiting battles with Meyer and others. We are going to have some incredible games in the foreseeable future.
