Anyone else think...

  • that Frank Clark is going to be an absolute beast next season? I was watching a re-run of this past years Michigan/OSU game and he played really well. He obviously didn't get much playing time last season and started to flourish towards the end of his freshman season. He showed flashes of really how destructive he can be against OSU. I think he is going to have a breakout season next year. What you guys think?

As long and he rights his wrongs and stays on the good path, I agree he will tear apart offensive lines. Him and Mario Ojemudia!

We abosutely need him to, thats for sure. Mario started pressing him for time as well, and he played well. Some(ducksworth) believe beyer will get the starting nod this year.

Someone needs to step up and take control of the job. But im not opposed to see the players rotate on downs again. Beyer is stronger against the run, but clark is freakish of an athlete

  • If he can improve his rush defense, then yes. His pass rush has always been great, but his rush defense leaves something to be desired IMO

  • His problem this year is because of off the field issues, he didn't develop as much as he should have. He could have been more of a beast THIS YEAR.

It is all up to him. He has all the tools, especially in Mattison's system, to excel.

  • Nah. He's still a bonehead when it comes to the option. He looked bad a couple of times against South Carolina.

He can make plays, but I don't think there's room for that kinda liability in this defense. I think his role might get squeezed out by Beyer and Ojemudia.

I do hope I'm wrong. Despite his troubles, I've always had a soft spot for Clark.

I agree. As Clark becomes more seasoned, and stays on the right path, he can develop into something special and I think he showed signs of that against OSU.

I see what your saying. I wasn't able to watch most of the South Carolina game because I was covering the Under Armour practices but I can see that. I think he will minimize those mental mistakes as he becomes more seasoned.

Upper classman need to be consistent. This is the third year in this system. It will be apparent right away if he is ready or not.

No doubt. Can't wait to see because I really think he's going to breakout.

I like Clark to Clint! I think he will have a good season. I am also glad to the fact that with Beyer, Clark and Mario O, Taco will get a well derseved redshirt. I would also like to see who takes over the SDE spot. Will Black move back or will one of the RS FR step up and take the spot?

    I certainly hope so.

Its definitely better having discussions about who may be a beast, rather than who may be competent. Lots of guys coming back with a year at their position already.

Compare what the staff was working with starting this past season to the Clark, Beyer, Ojemudia, Washington, Black, Heitzman, Pipkins d-line in 2013, and its almost night and day.

He is going to be a beast in the B1G next year he has a nose for the football and the athleticism and size to get to the quarterback. I think your spot on Clint. I would put the over under at 10 sacks?

That sounds like a good over/under to me. I think he is definitely capable of having a 10+ sack season.

Damn, that hit is pretty. Textbook wrap up and drive. I'd like to see us put a few more of those on Braxton next year.

Since the Sugar Bowl where he played lights out, I've hoped this would happen. I'm hoping you're right and that this happens Clint.
