I agree with my U-M friend on this. Best of luck to your son. It sounds like Jason has great family support and will be close enough for you and your family to be in the stands to support him.
If you don't mind me asking - What were Jason and your families thoughts on MSU. I am interested to hear from your perspective.

Offerred called once or twice and dropped it.
the only northern school that retained major interest of all 20+- offers Jason received was UCONN and Illnois

I think i remember reading an interview Tom Van Haaren did with you and he said that Hoke had a meeting or something along those lines. Must have been disappointing since you went up there to visit campus and didn't even get to meet the coach.

No disrespect intended. I am far removed from the situation and don't know the details. The press painted a pretty bad picture of Dooley (perhaps unfairly), from where I surmised my opinion.
That said, I appreciate your informed perspective and realize the situation was probably different than portrayed through the press.

Like most, people will say anything to make another look bad, and reporters need stories.
If you have a kid sending letters and emails to media; that's something to get rating and hits on. How do we think reports make their money?
