Give me Fuller, Quon, and either of Muhammad/Mcquay/Green.

Vanderdoes still wants to visit. Put him on the "first to commit" SDE list.

Fuller, Green, Vanderdoes/Mathis, Treadwell would beat Bama for #1 class.

  • I don't think we're getting Wilkins, and people really need to cool it with the Fuller talk. We're in his top group but unless something drastic happens he's going to Virginia Tech.

Realistically we'll get Treadwell, possibly a defensive end and hopefully make a push for Green when he visits.

I'm wanting Treadwell, Green, and McQuay to finish off this class, but that's still a pretty far fetched result at this point.

If two of those three go blue, Michigan will be right in there for the #1 class.

    I think that's reasonable.

If Fuller was really a 100% lock, he would announce already. Until he states himself that he is Va Tech, we should still pursue him with rigor. People are quick to drop a recruit, cause they read he is a "lock" on a message board.

Has he ever specifically said that he loves Virginia Tech or are people just assuming that he'll go there because of his brothers being there. As we learned with Poggi things are not always what they seem.

  • A good amount of our recruits have ties to other schools. ND just got Smith while his brother is at ohio also. So, in my mind we have a decent shot at Fuller still. These kids are not their brothers or fathers, what was good for their family members might not be what is best for them. Personally I hope we get Fuller first. He is very good db and it'd be great to expand our foothold at Good Council with the amount of talent at that school.

Ya I don't think Fuller is a lock at all. We have a legitimate chance at this cat. He tweets about Michigan all the time and seems to be bonding with some of our commits. Could be worse.

Unclear. But .... until Fuller states Michigan is not in the running ... we pursue and pursue hard. Michigan has a lot to offer Fuller, which makes a very compelling case for him IMO.

Why be so pessimistic? Do you think this is how the coaches and players are approaching the Bama game? Heck no!

Fuller, Treadwell, Green, and one of the 4 SDEs on the board are each very possible. Wilkens we'll know after he visits.

And as we learned with Isaac...

Does anyone think USC thought Isaac was a Mich lock?

Does anyone think OK treats Treadwell as a Mich lock?

There are no locks until NSD!

It's not me being pessimistic, it's me being realistic. Fuller is closer to home at VT, and on top of that he'll get to play with both of his brothers on a defense that made our offense look bad in the bowl game. Do we have a chance? Absolutely. Is it a considerable chance? Probably not. On top of that we have a much better shot with McQuay and his teammate, and if they commit we won't even need Fuller.

Wilkins nearly committed to Auburn and I fully expect him to end up there, and I honestly hope he ends up there because we don't need another big bruising back. We've already got enough.

After reading about the Bailey/McQuay duo and Treadwell I think we get those three and take the best SDE we can find if Green isn't interested. We really need more explosive talent on offense.

Since when is Wilkins a big bruising back? The tape I saw had an elusive, quick every down back. Am I thinking of the wrong guy?

  • As I thought would be the case, our chances with Wilkins seem nearly dead at this point. He's now thinking of canceling his Michigan trip in favor of a return trip to Auburn with his mother. Could commit to Auburn this week even without the second trip.

I don't have high hopes for Wilkins but he told Dawson yesterday that he's coming up Sat or Sun.

Definitely not a quick back. He's 6'1" 220 and doesn't show any more explosiveness than any of the back we have. I'd much rather see us take a 4th WR or Green.

You have obviously not watched his tape.

Define quick. He's quick for his size, but he's still much more of a big back than someone who's going to make D1 backs pay by dodging them, and in terms of quick-twitch explosiveness he falls short to many. Isaac and Green have the ability to switch gears quickly yet still have plenty of size, which is why they're both rated much higher than Wilkins. They're quick.

So yes, I have watched his tape. I strongly feel like we'd be better off taking a 4th WR (where we lack speed and elite talent) and an extra defender instead of adding a back that doesn't actually add much to the backfield. If we could get Green it would be more than worth dropping one of the two options.
