Couple of really good JUCO transfers too. I believe we should win but with DR running the show you never know. Especially in the early part of the season where players arent used to game speed. DR always shows out the first 4 games of the year gets gameday and everyone else going crazy of his numbers and then slows down a bit. I really expect him to be a contained problem if you get my drift against us.
EDIT*** Imagin me on our board trying to explain to a bunch of bama fans that theres a decent chance UM wins. Some arent liking it but I am backing it up with numbers. lol

Yeah. That really is the thing. I don't think Alabama is going to light up the scoreboard, but they definitely have the size and athletic ability on defense to give Michigan fits.
But you never stop paying attention when Denard has the ball in his hands, because he almost always has the option to pull it and take it himself. If you pay too much attention to him, you can get beat deep on the PA, or get beat at the line on the option. If you don't pay enough attention to him, you bite on the HB option or leave a gap open during the pass rush, and he's a TD waiting to happen.
Add in the fact that he is in year two of this offense after a really difficult stretch at the end of last season, that he quite simply LIVES at a higher speed than just about anything else, and you are looking at an offense that can be really hard on overaggressive youth.
And I would like to point out that teams that run a similar style as Alabama with the safety constantly rolling up had some success last year. So when Barron went to the pros, you really did lose the anti-Denard.

You beat Bama in the air not on the ground. We'll have to have an amazing balanced game plan from Borges.
Bama wins with their ground game. Our new Dline is undersized so it will be tough.
Look for Mattison to rotate personnel and penetrate the backfield. Need to win in turnover margin. We'll match up much better in a couple of years when Hoke's recruits are on the field but this team will have heart and come to play.
It will be a good measuring stick for Hoke and Co.'s 2nd year of rebuilding.

As an Irish fan I'm really excited for this game, I think it's going to be very close. I know mich is rebuilding their DL but who is DR going to throw to? Do you have any true WR's to stretch the field? Side note, seeing Michigan and U$C fan being so friendly makes me want to vomit.

Many southern fans(SEC) have zero respect for michigan and our history but I have been pleasantly surprised with the class alabama fans have shown in discussions about the game. I guess it comes from both of us having tradition and a winning percentage that others cant even fathom. With that said , there will be uneducated homers from both ends spewing useless facts and unbased and irrelevant information that isn't pertinent to this game. Lets hope this thread can continue to bring solid information, and answer questions we both have. SO lol, let me get off topic for one second and ask about Derrick Henry. If he does switch it gives us a small but viable chance at green

No body thought Bama could do better than there 2008 recruiting class with Julio, Ingram ect ect. In my opinion our recruiting classes have gotten better every single year. Getting deeper and deeper with talent top to bottom with each class and filling extreme needs every single time.
UM is doing this with Hoke and I expect UM and UA to have some big battles in the next 4-5 years. No matter if its a regular season game or a bowl. You are talking about probably 2 of the best all time programs in CFB existence. USC and ND are a couple of others. Recruiting is about to become a whole lot easier for UM and I am excited to watch yall beat the dog @#$% out of Ohio State for years to come. I cant stand the Buckeyes. Most over rated program next to Auburn I have ever seen.

Believe me when I tell you most avid Alabama fans I know have several opinions about Michigan football. We don't like Michigan because they are good and have a great tradition. To win the NC you have to contend with teams like Michigan. No one hates the bad teams, you kind of pull for them because they are the underdog. Michigan is one of the big boys of college football. They always have been and will continue to be so.
When Alabama was trying to get RR as a coach I told my friends "he is not a good fit for Alabama". I felt the same when Michigan hired him "not a good fit for Michigan. Looking at it Alabama and Michigan are very similar, hard nosed defense, good running game, great tradition, avid fan base. RR didn't fit into what I considered Michigan football with his style of offense and the type of players required to run it.
The knowledgeable Alabama fan has much respect for Michigan and feel it will be a tough game. We view Michigan much as we do Penn St, a more than worthy opponent any time you play them. We also feel Michigan is a recruiting class or two from being where you want to be. Our strength as a team (Offensive Line) is against the weakest part of the Michigan defense (DLine). Looking at the game from that viewpoint one has to give the edge to Alabama. We also realize with a player like Denard Robinson that Michigan is very dangerous and could very well win the game.
Sometimes perception is not the facts, rest assured that Alabama has much respect for Michigan as a program, at the same time not liking them. Thinking about it, that is the way I want others to view Alabama. You just don't like rivals that can beat you anytime you play them. Good luck to Michigan after the Alabama game and I hope both teams come out of the game injury free. Please pay no attention to the Internet assholes of which all fan bases have their fair share.

Theres a possibility that RR may have been successful at Bama, contingent on him being able to recruit a solid defense down there....with that being said, in a strange way RR may have been the best thing to happen to Michigan. He was the catalyst for what is about to come.

I'm a life long michigan fan and for me its going to come down to two things for us to be able to pull the upset. 1) we have to stop the run-- our dline is a work in progress and a little undersized. 2) we have to come up with 3 big plays-- i'm personally thinking a breakaway possibly busted offensive play with denard taking it to the house, an interception or fumble recovery, and a big time special teams play anything from blocking a punt or field goal to returning a punt or kick for a td. As to what I'm hanging my hat on in this game well for starters its denard robinson he is the constant mismatch so with him on the field we always have a chance. The other thing I am hanging my hat on is our defense. I know our dline is inexperienced, unproven, and undersized but our back 7 is top 10 caliber in the country. I believe we can hold our own defending the pass but it all comes down to stopping lacey and that crimson tide running game.
