  • As we have said before, I think the way Michigan plays on Saturday will have a huge impact on recruiting. If Michigan wins or even makes it close, I think it will help the Wolverines take things to the next level on the recruiting trails.

I disagree. This is Michigan. Win or Lose we will always be tops. We are already at that top level of recruiting. A victory just reinforces that

Michigan will always get their fair share of great prospects but to have a shot at elite players not from the Midwest like Paris, the Wolverines will need help, and a win against Bama will certainly do that.

I believe the last time Michigan signed a five-star who wasn't from the Midwest was in 2007 (Donovan Warren, Ryan Mallett) correct me if I'm wrong?

Agreed. Sure ... we recruit the snot out of MSU, Purdue, and Iowa in the midwest. But ... if we want to consistently recruit elites against USC, AL, and FL, we need to make a mark against the SEC.

This is the game to do it. The attitude should be there is no tomorrow.

Pipkins, depending on whos ranking you use (obviously here we'd use 24/7:p) and what region you consider KC to be in

but even with that your point is spot on

  • Yeah I think this game will really help us recruit on a National level more if we win or keep it fairly close under 10, it could be an awesome boost for the 14 class. Some guys like ED Paris, Nick Watkins, Jabrill Peppers.

Thanks, and yeah KC is considered Midwest. My point (just to make it more clear for Rico lol) is that if a prospect isn't familiar with Michigan, like Paris, wouldn't chances be a lot higher that he wants to learn more and/or visit Michigan if they beat Bama or make it close?

If we do end up losing then all is not lost. I'm sure we can persuade a 5 star or 2 outside of the midwest to come to Michigan if we make the Rose Bowl.

I agree all is not lost. Just saying it will help if Michigan wins.
