Taco is the only one committed right now. Just speculation but I feel like Michigan thinks they have another one already in the bag so to speak, but just haven't announced it officially.

Not in the now of UM recruiting but what if u guys land Ty Issac....maybe Shallman moves over. Not try to flame just trying to have a football discussion

Clint.....any ideas on who that could be? Poggi is the only one I can I think of....
hayes I think a lot of Michigan fans think Shallman ends up somewhere other than RB.....he seems like a perfect fit to me at U back/TE in this offense.

That two defensive ends comment is intriguing. Could mean McCray or Shallman is projected to DE, or that they already know of one they can count on, a la Gedeon earlier. Could be Mathis or Poggi.

H-back/ TE could be an option but you guys already have Hill. A lot of the writers talk about how athletic Shallman is could be a very solid SDE with Taco as the WDE.

Ducksworth good point on Mathis....I almost count him out just because of the distance thing but I know several have said if he were to commit today it would be to Michigan.
hayesr he does play on the DL in HS so I could see him there but in my mind with the coaches indicating they want 3 TE in this class he could be the solution. At 6'3" 255 already he has the size to play on the line as a TE as well.

I'm still concerned that Shallman might not want to be moved. Didn't he say that one of the reasons he committed to us was because the coaches were recruiting him as a RB?

Yuan you're right and i think they'll give him a shot a RB I guess I just don't think he is going to be the next Mike Alstott....

Its really hard to say. Again this is just speculation but the names that come to mind are Poggi of course, along with Joe Mathis and a name we haven't heard from in a while, Jason Hatcher. Hatcher visited Michigan a while back and has kept things very close to the vest ever since his visit. Christian LaCouture is in the mix as well and will be visiting this weekend.

That's what I always heard back before Smith had committed. Haven't heard it brought up much lately.

Poggi and Mathis seem the most likely candidates. Of those, Poggi seems more likely. I think Mathis loves us...right now. But once he goes back to the West coast? Fingers crossed.

IMO Todd's take makes the most sense. One problem with the Poggi theory is I read somewhere coaches told him he'd be a 3-tech DT, not a DE.

Yep, if the coaches project Poggi to a DE, then we are really behind the 8-ball at DT, even though its early April.....

Well, I don't think it's Poggi because he's being recruited as a DT, unless the coaches changed their mind for some reason. It's not Mathis for obvious reasons. It's also not Hatcher, I did a bit of twitter sifting and saw that he was trying to get Dee Liner to visit UT with him (yep, that makes me a creep). Removing those three, who does that leave?
