As far as the '15 QBs go, I think O'Connor is the cream of the crop. My cousin was at UM camp and said he was unreal.

It might be tough to land a top kid in '15 if we get a stud in '14 like Kizer, Stewart, Key, or Henderson.

yea that depth chart will definetly scare away some

Quick, who are the top 2016 QB's on our chart (sarcasm)? A deep 2014 QB stable will look better to the '16 class then the '15 class.

I think we can get Jayru Campbell no matter who we offer in 2014 because he goes to CT and if we really want him we have enough people in his ear to get him.

From what I've heard he really likes ND.

I think we might have some other kids higher on our list. Which may not sit well with him.

You have to remember that we haven't offered yet, and ND is one of two of his only high profile offers. I won't take his interest in ND seriously unless he's still interested in them 2/3 years from now.

definetly agree, i beleive a UM offer would immediately change the game, wouldn't guarentee him as a complete lock but nearly so

  • I strongly doubt that the coaches have anyone else *right now* above O'Connor on their 2015 list of QBs. Maybe Jayru Campbell - partly because he is an in-state talent and comes from a Michigan pipeline - but that might be it.

I don't care as long as we get 1 of them.

Since our coaches have already started recruiting a few prospects from that class, might as well get this one started.

QB Michael O'Connor (from Canada, transferred to a Tennessee HS) Jayru Campbell (Cass Tech) Josh Kirshenbaum (LTT's teammate)

    RB Damien Harris

WR James Proche Najee Clayton (Jabrill's and Tyrone's teammate)

Quick question .... our the coaches waiting on offering a '14 QB purely to see how they start their junior seasons?

  • This is basketball related info but I'm putting it on here anyway.

2015 target (most likely #1 in the class) Karl Towns Jr. is playing for the Dominican Republic in the Olympics if they qualify. He is wearing #12 for them. He will obviously be pursued by every top program in the nation, but was a Michigan fan growing up. We are definitely one of the frontrunners for him at this point. Just something to keep an eye on. Some call him the next Durantula - something I certainly wouldn't mind having in Ann Arbor for a year.

    I think so.

The coaches want to be sure.

But Clint reported that Coleman Key was the only 2014 QB that was invited to the BBQ which surprised me a lot.

I didn't know that he grew up a Michigan fan. That's pretty cool.

However, if Calipari is still at Kentucky come 2015, then I expect Towns to choose Kentucky.

Btw, I think Kevon Looney of 2014 is Durant-like as well in his style of play.

  • Yeah it certainly doesn't help that Calipari is coaching the Dominican squad.

But there's a good interview/intro of him on umhoops
Don't want to link it because I'm still not familiar with 24/7 policies regarding such

We are in on many top guys in 2015, that class has potential to be something special (as do '12, '13, and '14)

  • Jim Stefani dropped the name Michael WEber as a kid to watch... Possibly the fastest player on the Cass Tech team when he is healthy... Problem is, he missed all of his freshmen year but should be called upon this fall as a key contributor.... Glad 1 school in Detroit is showcasing all the talented kids in that city on the football field.

  • As someone who goes to 80% of Cass Tech's games, and is in contact with various players including Jayru, he seems really interested in Michigan. He has told me a relative of his goes there and he really like the school.

IMO, Hoke needs to get an offer out.
