According to Allen Trieu Damien Harris ran a 4.35 in the 40 yard dash (which was supposedly laser timed)

I've attached an interview of Damien Harris by Mike Farrell. Pay attention to what Damien says: "both schools try to dog each other to make the other college look bad just to get me." That's a euphemism for negative recruiting.

Hence, Farrell asks "Is there some negative recruiting going on?" as the follow-up question to which Damien responds hesitantly "...the usual."

Damien does name Michigan his leader at the end of the video.

That is interesting. Recruits have said that Michigan's coaches don't negatively recruit against other schools, so maybe this is just referring to Ohio State. I can see those guys trying to pull that type of stuff. It'll be funny when he commits to the good guys.

I noticed he paused when Ferrell asked him what he liked about OSU. I think what he said he made up on the spot. lol

Damien Harris Is Top Sophomore at U.S. Army National Combine

Berea (KY) Madison Southern RB Damien Harris was the top 2015 in San Antonio on Friday. He talks about his leader Michigan and number two school Ohio State among other topics.

    4.35 was hand timed.

He ran a 4.5 electronic. And was one of the best players there regardless of class.

  • Tyrone Weathley Jr. is sick....WOW. I have no idea what he projects better as, TE or DE??? I think currently he would be more impactful at DE.

    Mike Weber Jr highlights

Give me Mike Weber and Damian Harris and just shut down 2015 RB recruiting after that. Those two together would be unbelievable.

  • Getting Harris and Weber will give us a great stable. It's very realistic that we get both, too, which is great. Combo could be as good as Gurshall was this year

I have a nickname for them already too. Ready?

    "Harrier."

Why? Because our RB combo will be fast, powerful, and deadly - just like a fighter jet.

Haha I like it. If we get Green, he'll be a junior that season and should be able to tutor them

Definitely not a 4.45 burner type but seems like a solid RB. I'd like to see him run with lower pad level and better ball security, he carries the ball like a loaf of bread and you just can't get away with that at the college level. He's got good hands out of the backfield, though and he catches with his hands which is a big plus.

You're probably joking here but in case you are serious then I strongly disagree.

There are too many talented players out there to fixate on just Harris and Weber. For instance, in-state stud Romello Ross Jr. is another speedster that plays RB. There's also Jacques Patrick (who Steve introduced on Tremendous). Others will emerge.

Our coaches used the 2012 and 2013 recruiting classes to fix glaring roster needs and to build strong lines while mixing in good skill players. In 2014, we'll see a greater emphasis on the skill positions through selectivity. Also, Sam Webb mentioned that the coaches intend to slow down the recruiting process which means it's unlikely we'll have 8 recruits commit in one night. Lastly, do not be surprised if our coaches adopt a more national recruiting approach in 2014. As thing stand now, only 5 of Michigan's 24 commits in the class of 2013 are from outside of the Midwest. (Admittedly, that number will go up if Green and Hunt commit but the overwhelming majority of our players will be from neighboring states.)

Notice that Cass Tech has a number of LBs for Michigan choose from in 2014 but the coaches decided to go out-of-state. We could see something similar in 2015.

Edit: My mistake CMXI. I confused the usernames.

lol I mainly wanted those two for the nickname.

Although, I'm thinking we should be targeting Harris regardless of anyone else. Obviously though, others will emerge, and depending on who we get in 2014 and who pans out among the 2012-14 backs, our needs will change.

    CMXI

  • Yes, Harris should be a primary target regardless of who else emerges.

I'm encouraged by Tremendous' introduction to Patrick, but UF (especially) and Bama are gonna be tooouuugghhhhh to beat for him I think, if his twitter activity (along with the standard "Elite recruits from the South stay South" rule) is anything to judge by. Obv there will be others, but Harris is a major talent and a UM lean, I want him on the team and on the top of the list.

    inuyesta

  • Harris is a priority. After all, he's one of 2 (maybe 3) 2015 prospects to hold an early offer from Michigan.

My post was meant to be interpreted for a second RB since CMXI mentioned Mikey Weber of Cass Tech as a complement to Harris.
