Cass Tech rising sophomore Jayru Campbell has been working hard to become the best quarterback he can be. Campbell had a very solid day throwing at the Adidas Elite Showcase.

Yeah he definitely has a lot of help around him but he only threw 6 interceptions too. Look for Campbell to grow a lot more as well. His dad is 6-foot-8, 250 pounds.

Definitely. And to step in as the starter midway through the season on a team with as much veteran talent as Cass Tech had couldn't have been easy for a freshman.

He's not on the same level as Michael Vick or Tim Tebow athletically, but he's definitely not a statue back there.

Talked with Detroit (MI) Cass Tech coach Tom Wilcher this AM. He said there was some confusion, and although Eastern Michigan is showing a lot of interest, they have not offered Campbell yet.

Some stats I found as well:
He went 13-20 for 240 yards and 5 TDs in the State Championship game.
From what I remember he had some rushing yards, but I can't seem to find the official listing on how many.
Probably a pro-style QB that can move when need be, but no Denard.

He is definitely capable of picking up some yards with his feet but I think your right, he is more of a pro-style QB.

I also hope that Jayru Campell grows 2-4 inches AND develops into accurate/consistent/reliable passer.
I'd like him to be a QB like Bucky Hodges of 2013. For those of you that don't know, he's a teammate of Derrick Green.
