Peppers is the Reuben Foster or Robert Nkemdiche of 2014, arguably even better.

As far as I can tell, Barker expressed a ton of interest in OSU early, advertising to the world how much he loved OSU and has visited twice already, so I'm feeling pretty good about him thus far. The staff is all over Kizer, not surprisingly, though I haven't heard anything from the Kizer end regarding OSU. Kizer grew up a Michigan fan and seems like they have an early lead here. The other QB targeted so far is William Crest out of MD.

I've heard William Crest is the real deal.

The OSU staff is huge on Crest. He's the only QB we've actually offered in the 2014 class so far even with Kizer and Barker in our backyards.

Nationalunderclassmen.com ranks him as the #10 prospect in the 2014 class. Here is a link to the top 15 ranking video, which I suspect should be interesting to a number of people on this board:

Star, your favorite RBs Fournette and Michel are on the list. Peppers is ranked #2, behind yet another beastly DE, a position which seems to always claim the top ranking spot in recent years. This is a very South heavy list is the only bummer.

Michigan has 5 targets on that list:

    #1 DaShawn Hand
    #2 Jabrill Peppers
    #4 Sam Mustipher
    #5 Jalen Tabor
    #12 Jay Hayes

Peppers, Mustipher, and Hayes seem to have all grown up with a soft spot for Michigan.

Mustipher REALLY likes Michigan. Pretty sure we're looking at him on the OL though

I worry about Sony Michel's durability. One he gets to college he is already going to have more hits on his body than the usual incoming freshman. But, there is no deny his natural talent.

How well does he know Blake Countess?

He probably know Kendall Fuller better so lets just get Fuller and open up that pipeline (Countess->Fuller->Mustipher)goblue

What's wrong with a man giving away a golden shower? Sounds like a nice gift to me.

Very well. I believe in an interview (Tremendous maybe?) he said that Blake was one of the reasons he went to GC.

  • I've talked to Sam a lot already (hes a great guy to talk to) and I'd say he is actually closer to Countess than Fuller. One of Sams good friends is Blake's little brother and I believe they are even neighbors. Also, I'd look out for Ohio State with him. He likes them and they offered him really early.

  • I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Dante Booker yet. Top 3 player in Ohio next year if not the top and Michigan is recruiting him but right now it looks like an OSU vs. Auburn battle as his dad played at aubrenz.

OSU offered him about 2 hours after we did. Maybe the theory that Meyer offers anyone Hoke does holds some truth. We should have a really good shot because of his coach though.

There were 8 guys from Illinois in the top 247 for the 2013 class.

This Maxpreps top 100 list from back in 8/11 has 2 IL players on it:

    http://www.maxpreps.com/news/Iflg-cN8EeC-qwAmVebEWg/class-of-2014-top-100-watch-list.htm

That being said, that list was made before last season even started, so the players mentioned only had freshman experience. Obviously, the list will change a lot. Will Crest, for instance, who only started come his sophomore year, isn't even on the list.

This is about the only 100+ person list I know of thus far, though.

2013 is the strongest year in IL, maybe ever. Expect 4-7 4* on any given year in IL.

Not sure about Illinois, but Indiana is expected to be loaded next year.

Michigan offered another 2014 DB today. Lakeland (FL) Kathleen's, Ja'Von Harrison

A WR/DB at 6'3" 175... I suppose if Sam lists him as a DB then thats where they're looking at him as opposed to a wideout.

Really exciting to see the increased flow of 2014 offers recently.
