I think Peppers is already better than Fuller. He was the best player on Don Bosco last year as a sophomore on a team with Yuri Wright, Elijah Shumate, and Darius Hamilton. The kid is a top 3 player in the 2014 class IMO.

I asked JC last year how Peppers would rank compared to Fuller and any other CB's from 12-14 classes, he said Peppers>>>>everyone else. QB Parker looks like tOSU lean, they are really targeting him.

    Parker?

Did you mean Barker as in Drew Barker?

Peppers is the Reuben Foster or Robert Nkemdiche of 2014, arguably even better.

As far as I can tell, Barker expressed a ton of interest in OSU early, advertising to the world how much he loved OSU and has visited twice already, so I'm feeling pretty good about him thus far. The staff is all over Kizer, not surprisingly, though I haven't heard anything from the Kizer end regarding OSU. Kizer grew up a Michigan fan and seems like they have an early lead here. The other QB targeted so far is William Crest out of MD.

Aqua just did an interview with Jabril Peppers over at Tremendous. Apparently, Jabril has a greater interest in Michigan than previously thought; he said he grew up rooting for them, and that it would be a dream come true if they offered. Apparently, five minutes after the interview, his coach told him that Michigan had offered him. Coincidence? This would be a huge get; I would compare Peppers to Kendall Fuller.

Do you happen to have a link to this interview per chance, kind sir?

Either my internet surfing skills aren't up to snuff anymore or the Tremendous site has protections set up against Buckeye fans.

    Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind, I found it. Thanks

Yeah, I've heard that Kizer is a huge UM fan, but the coaches aren't in constant contact with him like the OSU coaches are. I really hope he is part of the 2014 class

Yeah, I know you guys are more focused on the pure passers. Even so, I'm surprised you're not all over him given his interest level and skillset. At a bare minimum, he'd be great for red zone situations. On the other hand, I know there are a few high quality QBs in the state of Michigan in the 2014 class, so those guys probably are getting top priority.

I'm guessing with Morris in the 2013 class, that you probably only are looking to take one QB in 2014?

I think it'll come down to Chance Stewart or Deshone Kizer, and I, for one, wouldn't mind taking both. I think Stewart could be very good, but he needs time to develop. Kizer has impressive physical tools and I'd love to see him at Michigan. Our third option is Chandler Kincade, but I doubt we'll be able to pull him away from a PA school.

I think the coaches may be looking for 2, but I don't think Kizer and Stewart will be in the same class. If I had to guess, I would say Kizer and a prospect that is currently off the radar will the two QB's, but there is still a long way to go.

Sounds reasonable. It doesn't look like getting a quality QB will be an issue for either of us in 2014 at this point. Of course, its still very early.

Seems like Stewart has a great arm and touch, but just needs to work on going through his progressions and not locking on receivers the next few years (which should come with maturity), and has Bernie Kosar like mobility. If Michigan is most focused on him, they clearly are moving solely to the pure pro-style offense.

Agreed. I really hope we get Kizer, he's a great player. I would really prefer to have an athlete like him back there instead of John Navarre Part 2. Can't really go wrong with either one.

  • I would think the coaches take 2 QBs in 2014. None in 2012, one in 2013 and one in 2014 would be a setup for disaster in 2016.

I want to make it known that Steve Lorenz (Tremendous) is the reason my trial month became a permanent membership. Smart move 247.

That's why I'd love Stewart and Kizer in the same class - redshirt Stewart, get a year of separation, and give him the time to develop. We absolutely do need the 2 QBs though.

Aliquippa Pittsburgh area. Class of 2014. Aliquippa has produced some major talent lately Revis, Ty Law, Tony Dorsett and Sean Gilbert. Not sure on his interest level.

We don't NEED two, by the time they're on campus:
    Bellomy will be a RSSoph
    Morris will be a RSFreshman/Soph
Four QB's with such little separation is asking for trouble

  • RE:Stewart, Chance told me the Penn State coaches were at his high school this week and they were only there to see him. Chance was clearly quite impressed by this.

    Trouble?

No. That's the wrong perspective/outlook imo.

Let competition dictate who plays and who stays. If someone transfers out, then that's ok. It opens up a scholarship.

I agree that the coaches don't need to take 2 QBs in 2014. However, I hope that they do take 2 Qbs in 2014.

After 2014, we'll be ok with taking 1 QB per class.

That's one of the first 2014 PA prospects I've heard about. Only other one was a safety at the Pittsburgh 7 on 7. Looks pretty good.

It almost looks like he could grow into a LB.

in that context you're right, i hate to see transfers though.
