DE DaShawn Hand - Top 2 preliminarily

CB/WR Adoree Jackson - Top 5 who is showing more interest than people think

S/WR John "Juju" Smith - Top 5 with legitimate interest

S/RB Jabrill Peppers - Top 5 with good potential to move up following a visit (Edit: No chance b/c of Hoke to NFL)

DE Malik McDowell - Top 2, I personally feel we're still his leader

WR Drake Harris - Top 3, we have as good a shot as anyone

OL Mason Cole - Top 2ish, potentially his leader

RB Elijah Hood - Top 6, a lot of ground to make up but our coaches are going HAM in his recruitment

RB Joe Mixon - Top group, don't know much about him. Will be tough to pull.

DT Andrew Brown - Top 5. Legit interest

OG Braden Smith - Top 5/10. Probably wont end up here. I continue to hear he's overrated.

I remember people saying that we had no shot at him when we offered. People should have learned the first time when they said we had no shot at Derrick Green.

It's because some people don't realize when recruits like him come around who actually value academics and respect/honesty, Michigan is quintessential for that. We're right towards the top of the list for powerhouse football programs with top-notch education, and Hoke is as real a person as a coach can get. I actually think it will be difficult for Hand to turn down Michigan, as much as he may love Foster and V. Tech. He will see some awesome games at the Big House next year, and we have a lot of manpower recruiting him. I've always been cautiously optimistic about our chances with Hand, and the more I hear reports from him, the further my optimism increases. We will know a lot more after he visits Ann Arbor.

Also, the BBQ would be a PERFECT environment for him. Every program is going to try to pamper him with the typical BS most coaches spew to the number one recruit in the country. Our BBQ is in place to avoid just that, and I think for a kid like Hand that will really resonate.

I think Michigan is going to need VT to have another sub-par season, but it's totally realistic that Michigan can land Hand. If he doesn't choose Michigan, it definitely won't be because the coaches weren't recruiting him hard enough, this is probably one of the few cases I've seen the coaches put an absolute full court press on.

He is apparently good friends with Speight and Derrick Green, so Michigan has that in their favor too.

So if Hand is good buddies with Speight and DG then does that mean he is friends with Kendall Fuller or an of his brothers? I was just wondering because that could help V. Tech also.

You may have a point...and to expound on that, George Campbell visiting next week may also be proof of where Cole has us on his leader board. If Campbell knows that his buddy and teammate is probably going to Michigan (75-80%), its something he needs to check out sooner rather than latter.

No, I agree that Scott definitely has interest, I'm just saying maybe not quite as much as we hoped

I know it's a long shot, but there has been increased talk of them all going to the same school. It had kind of died down for a while.

It would be crazy, but realistically it would probably just be bad news for us with Cole, not good news for Scott/Campbell.
