I think he'll stay at Corner.. he's got the speed and lateral quickness.

They aren't going to "let" Webb go anywhere. I would bet he's their top target in the secondary.

Peppers is, but Webb is 2nd.

His frame? Have you measured his shoulder width, girth, and hip size? Can't go off of height alone.

Peppers is, but Webb is 2nd.

So they are going to prioritize an out of state kid who may be a long shot, over an in-state kid who is blowing up, whose alternatives to us include OSU, MSU, and Wisconsin? .... not a chance.

Peppers may be a better prospect, but getting the top in-state kids like Webb and McDowell is priority #1.

He isn't really a long shot, but yes coaches usually recruit the higher level players the hardest.

This isn't NCAA football 13, the coaches don't have a limited time frame to talk to different prospects, I'm sure Peppers and Webb are both being recruited hard. Doesn't matter who is being recruiting harder, as long as they are being recruited.

Agree and their are freaks that already have the size for college. Look at Bo Scarborough doubt he needs a lot more weight on him to play college football.

And just read Peppers ran a 10.6 in 100 meters this spring, dang.

My understand was that when recruiting elite talent (both Webb and Peppers are elite), the staff would use the rule of Michigan>Midwest>Country. goblue

Yeah, some kids are just physically ready for college, not every kid is going to gain 20 lbs once they get to college. All we know is he will lose 10 pounds once he gets to college by replacing his muscle with leaner muscle.

Spend an hour talking to Braden Smith
Spend an hour talking to Damon Webb
Spend an hour talking to Jabrill Peppers
Spend an hour talking to Malik Mcdowell
Spend an hour talking to Michael Ferns
Spend an hour talking to Parrker Westphal
Spend an hour talking to Dashawn Hand
Spend an hour talking to Caleb Henderson
Spend an hour talking to Deon Drake
    and one more person. shrug

Darn, looks like my time is up for this week.

I don't think it matters where the player is. The more elite the player, the harder you recruit them, but this argument is stupid since the coaches recruit all elite players hard. I saw that Parrker Westphal has the potential to be a 5 star. dramaqueen

Depends on how old you are, I know a lot of the kids at my school did and if they did continue to grow it was very minimal.

I don't think it matters either. I believe the coaches have said the focus on recruiting will be in Michigan, followed by the Midwest, and then on a national level. Of course the staff will pursue Peppers relentlessly, but there's no way it will let Webb stroll out of the state without extreme resistance. Personally, I hope the staff decides to take all three, because that secondary would be an absolute nightmare for other teams' quarterbacks. Mattison could have a field day with moving players around in different situations too because the staff has recruited many versatile DBs.

I stopped growing after my freshman year. A lot of people are done growing by then or by sophomore year.

Yeah, it's actually rare to grow after you reach 16.

Yeah, I hit my growth spurt when I turned 15, so it was my sophomore year, but most kids are 15 their freshman year.

  • We will take a minimum of 3 DB's. I could see us taking 4 easily.

With my early prediction being 4 of the following:

    Webb - CB (top group/leader)
    Westphal - CB/S ("the standard")
    Peppers - S/CB (top group)
Troy Vincent - CB (top group)
Montae Nicholson - S (slight leader)

I believe we are also in the top 5 for D'Andre Payne, so he could be added as well.

Because I made that remark based solely on his height....?

There is an awesome invention called a camera. It produces pictures. I have seen said pictures. His frame is evident
