yes sir, Wisky was not a problem for us before RR and will not be under Hoke. Would much rather see a top player go there over msu or ohio.

Did you skip the dumptrucking they put on us in Madison in 2007? Or the way we handed them the game in 2005?

Since Alvarez's first Rose Bowl year (and excluding the RR years), we're 7-4 vs. Wisconsin, and five of those seven wins have been decided by 10 points or less. Saying they weren't a problem before RR is overstating things....significantly. PURDUE wasn't a problem before RR. Wisconsin has been one of the tougher games on the schedule for the better part of 20 years now.

Yeah....I don't even pay attention to any recruits in Texas we offer until the Longhorns get their haul.

Thats the truth. Texas has always been one of the best at putting a fence around their state and getting the guys they want. Mack Brown makes that one of his biggest priorities as a coach.

First time I've really watched Alex Bars a good bit and I really like him. Definitely one of the state's best for 2014.

  • Have a question for everyone. Why haven't we offered Artavis Scott yet? He is crazy good and would fit perfectly into the slot. I have heard i think that the coaches are waiting to get his transcripts. I also saw that the coaches might recruit him on defense. I think that's a bad move considering how many elite DB that have interest and the huge class we are bringing in this year. Any thoughts would be appreciated, have a great weekend!!

Agreed so is his friend and teammate at the bbq. I thought I read somewhere that they were a package deal.

Just generally speaking if you have an athletic freak and they don't mind playing O or D, you always put him on D. Defensive is reactionally and you always want your best athletes there. Now is Scott prefers O I completely agree you recruit him on O, cause you want the kid, no question.

I agree, we're in on enough really good DBs that we may end up turning some away and we could use a slot-receiver in the 2014 class. Norfleet will get some time there but we don't have anyone from the 2013 class that projects there. Unless Jourdan Lewis ends up converting to offense for us. Definitely think we need to pursue Scott as a receiver as of now.

  • Borges prefers big slots. Funchess will see time their this season. Without knowing much about Scott my guess is he would play on the outside.

He's a 5-10 type receiver. Not sure we'd put a smaller receiver on the outside all that often. Admittedly, I'm not all that familiar with the specifics of the full Borges pro-style we'll be running in the future.

  • I've read that the coaches are telling the '14 kids its too early to commit. That they should take their time.

Yes. I have wondered about this one as well. Is it a recruiting tactic, or something else? Personally, I believe the coaches want recruits who are 100% dedicated to UofM. If you cannot say 100% yet, then do not commit. Also, I believe they want to minimize the 'look around' recruits - the ones that commit really early ... then want to take unofficials while committed to you. While Michigan does not have a '14 recruit yet like USC, FL, etc., we may be mitigating future risks by assuring ourselves these kids are committed to UofM.

Some of the recruits have said they really like how the coaches are not pressuring them to commit and to take their time. So in sone cases I think the recruits are liking it and respecting how chill the coaches are.

It was Westphal from what I've heard, and there may be several reasons for it. The main one is, ideally, they would like to see Junior year tape on kids before a commitment, unless it's a sure fire 5 star type kid. It's a time during a kid's HS career where the major changes normally occur, and UM's board could end up being drastically different in a couple months.

I wouldn't be surprised if he told the 2013 recruits the same thing. There's a video on espn of Shane talking about the day he committed. While he didn't say that hoke told him not to commit yet, the way he described hoke's reaction certainly made it sound like hoke wasn't expecting one so early.

I would take Westphal off his sophomore film.
