There's no point in me even attempting to continue this conversation with you when these are your opening sentences.
I laughed 3 times: - LOL @ "Doom and gloom" - LOL @ "expecting the worst" - LOL @ "not giving our staff enough [credit]"
- We're just coming off of 2 top-10 classes and I'm gloomy?
- I'm holding Brady Hoke accountable to standard he has set (B1G Championship) and yet "I'm expecting the worst" because of 2 recruiting misses?
- I'm not giving the staff enough credit despite being one of the few guys that defended Al Borges during the 2011 season?
No Clark. You're wrong on all 3 points and more.
I merely presented a plausible scenario (using 2 questions). And from that you extrapolated nonsense like "Ohio will be some sort of unstoppable juggernaut."
And I even explained what I meant by "Meyer is in our coaches heads." Coaches are aware of their peers and account for each other when clashing over recruits. It's just an intrinsic part of recruiting.
At the end of the day, I'm only responsible for what I say and not what you (mis)interpret or (mis)understand.
So I'll say it clearly: If Ohio defeats Michigan in Ann Arbor in the 2013 Game and then wins the 2013 B1G Championship, casual fans across the nation will expect Ohio to maintain dominance over the Big Ten.
And sometimes, perception becomes reality.
But it's unlikely that either dominates the other given that both programs are recruiting at a high level for their preferred systems.
That's it.

Am I the one being paid 2.5 million a year as Head Coach of Michigan Football or is that Brady Hoke?
My life goes on regardless of what happens in The Game. I'm not judged by the outcome of The Game so seems like a stupid question to ask me, no?
But as a Michigan alum and fan, Urban Meyer as Head Coach of Ohio concerns me because: 1. he's a better recruiter than Tressel 2. he's a more accomplished coach than Tressel.
Nevermind that Tressel took over a 8-4 Ohio team and went 7-6 in his first season as Ohio HC while Urban Meyer took over a 6-7 Ohio team and went 12-0 in his first season.
-----
I'm just excited that the Michigan-Ohio rivalry might just surpass the Red River Rivalry and the Iron Bowl as the premier rivalry in college football.
I hope we can make the newly christened B1G the Big 2 and Little 10/12 again. And I hope Michigan wins more than it loses.

First post guys....long time lurker. Although I do not believe in spinning negatives into positives, I am only slightly concerned. OSU can only take so many each year. We will get our fair share out of Michigan, Ohio and the rest of the Midwest. Coaches are doing well in Illinois last few years. As long as we continue to fill needs we will be fine and coaches know what their needs and priorities are. We do need a playmaker outside, but don't forget Darboh last year and Funchess will only get better. Jones is vastly underrated in 2013 and York may surprise as well. Plus, tO$U fans are already counting their championships after probably the least impressive 12-0 season in history. Could have easily had 4 losses. Certainly not dominating and they had plenty of talent, much moreso than RR left us. Our coaches have rebuilt the lines which RR left in deplorable shape. I am glad tO$U fans are so confident, reminds me of the Cooper years. Man those were sweet. I was a student at OSU then (long story, dad wouldn't write check to UM if it would have saved his life). I had a great time there, but never swayed in my love for UM. I went to UM game at age 7 and loved ever since. 2 of my 3 kids like the good guys and one lives in Ann Arbor now after graduating last year from EMU.....Go Blue!!!!

Thank you......enjoy the conversation that takes place here. Certainly recruiting is the lifeblood of any program, but I think finding players that fill needs and fit system is more important. You can go to any MAC School and find players that the big boys missed on or passed over. Both Superbowl QB's were not on anybody's radar and Kapernick is an absolute freak. Stars mean little once they put the pads on and step between the lines.
I would have loved to go to UM, several of my friends played baseball there. One of our good friends sons will be pitching there in 2014. My son will attend basketball camp there with his high school team this fall (good athlete, but DII caliber). I have met both Brady Hoke and John Beilein and both are great men that any parent would be thrilled to have coach their son.
My cousin's son is a walk on OL for OSU and they LOVE Urbs. I have never liked him since his days at BGSU. He will be a force for sure, but his program will implode. Look how he left Florida, Utah and BGSU. He won big a few years at each, primarily with others recruits. Had big recruiting classes (at Florida) and all 3 programs were a mess when he left. No doubt he will win many games, but I also think tOSU fans really do not realize how hard it is to win a NC. Between UM and tOSU, we have all of 2 in last 45 years. If we can get 2 between us in next 10 that would be good.
I sincerely believe that UM will prevail their fair share long term and we will not see a 10 year dominance by either program. You will never have to apologize for either of our major sports head coaches or the way the University handles its business. Go Blue....
Btw, good friend of mine coaches Mark Donnall and he will fit well into Beilein's system. My son's team played them last year as well and again this Summer. Great kid and great family. Toledo area sending 4 kids to Big 10 this year and he is a solid get.
