^ According to 247 Sports, Jalen Hurd seems to be favoring the SEC.

We hit Illinois hard today offering Garrett, Morgan, and a QB named Mister. Anyone know anything about Mister?? Friend of mine that writes a buckeye blog is releasing story on Peppers later today and he named top 8 with UM, ND, OSU, Stanford, USC, Bama, Miami, and Florida making the cut.. Looks like our staff is offering earlier in Illinois after getting burned this year. McGovem being the only kid we got out of a loaded Illinois.

I don't know anything about Mister but Morgan is a beast, also we'll be in it until the end for Peppers.

  • Hoke Challenging Meyer For Top OT?

One of the top 2014 offensive tackle prospects on the Bucks’ recruiting board has Ohio State at the top of his list. But will a visit to Michigan this weekend change things?

Story coming a little later on 2014 ATH Jalen Hurd of TN. He tells me why #Alabama is No. 1 and #OhioState is No. 2

  • It's June 2012 and you guys don't have a 2014 commit yet?? Who all is panicking? biggrin

Seriously though, do you guys have camps or anything over the summer? PSU is holding one this weekend and supposedly will have a real big one on the 16th. We've got some very good 2014 recruits lined up for both camps.

I think the BBQ is sometime in late July.

  • According to Tremendous, the Michigan coaches will offer CJ Reavis - a LB/S hybrid from Virginia in the class of 2014.

I've attached a link to his video.

In the video, you'll notice that there are clips of Reavis tackling Derrick Green (2013 RB) and Bucky Hodges (2013 QB).

Michigan is one of the four early favorites for him.

  • Hoping Jimmy Byrne gets blown away by the staff and starts to think about Michigan very seriously... Tough battle indeed vs Bucks but this staff has proven to me that they are a handful in the midwest

  • Anybody know if we're recruiting 2014 DE/LB Melvin Keihn (Poggi's teammate)? Looks like a good athlete for his size. Early offers from Virginia, Rutgers, and Maryland.

  • Looks like the coaching staff is getting in early on a lot of quality OL for 2014. Does anyone got a breakdown on which ones we are most likely to land?

Malik McDowell will likely be the first recruit in our 2014 class. He's the 23rd best player in America on 247.

Michigan would greatly increase its odds of landing all 3 with a victory over Alabama to start the season.

It's difficult to know who is a longshot this early on. I don't think we'll get him because of McDowell who plays the same position.

I think the coaches are simply in the introductory stages of developing relationships with 2014 talent.

AFAIK, no priorities have been identified yet.

For our coaches to have any chance of snagging all three recruits, Michigan must beat Alabama on September 1st.

i don't think its a must win, we definitely need to have a strong showing though.

If our coaches want to win the Da'Shawn Hand recruitment, they have to show Hand that Michigan is on the verge of becoming the best by beating the best (Alabama).

While I agree that a close loss won't be a bad thing (and could be spun into a positive), there is simply no substitute for winning.

A victory against the reigning Champions and Saban (who is currently seen as the best coach in college football) would not only announce to the nation that Michigan is truly back under Hoke but also give the program even more momentum in recruiting.

There will be a lot of top recruits that will be watching that game just like there were many top recruits that watched the Oregon-LSU game.

The Dallas game could become a perennial staple of college football.

You are setting yourself up IMO. I will take a strong showing in that game by Blue. If they can hang with them by less than 7, we have come a long way IMO.
