He hasn't announced yet whether he intends to play basketball, football or both. It seems both UM and MSU have said he can do both, though that's very difficult to do successfully. Despite what many MSU fans believe, I think we have a good shot.

Yeah, its really tough to do both football and basketball given the overlapping schedules and different training regimes. Pryor strongly considered the idea but obviously ultimately went the football route. I'm sure Matta was sad and Tressel was relieved at the time.
You're in really rarified grounds if you can pull off doing both sports in a big time program: Charlie Ward, Tony Gonzalez, Donovan McNabb a bit, Ronald Curry and Julius Peppers. That's about all I can think of. Antonio Gates chose to only play basketball in college before going on to the NFL. It has to be a lot harder to do now than in the 90s, as well.
Trevon Hudson from Ohio probably will have a similar b-ball or football choice to make. I'm with you, Frank C, that I hope all these kids play football. Of course, I like football A LOT more than basketball. There's no denying that NFL money pales in comparison to NBA money, which has to be a big part of the allure, though its even harder to get to the pros in basketball.
Also, I take it from the responses that he really hasn't cited a favorite school for either sport? Are you guys just speculating that he'll just pick the hottest program or has he made any comments to indicate that's how he'll choose? Is it definitely a two horse race, as well, or is there just a lack of info out at this point?

If Michigan basketball takes another step forward this season, then we should be that much more attractive.
Losing in the first round in this past NCAA Tournament tarnished an otherwise good season. I'm hoping for at least a Sweet 16 this time around.
It. Is. Time.
ETA: Frankly, I think Drake's future is in football. A 6'4" SG is a dime a dozen. But a 6'4" burner at WR is a prized player.

On Drake Harris, just thought I'd throw out that the latest update is that he might be leaning towards football in college, which is good news for Michigan. But MSU has had success recruiting WRs (more than Michigan, tbh), so it could be interesting.

MSU has had more successful WRs the last few years, but much of that is due to the RR era during which elite WRs virtually disappeared at UM. And the RR era is over. If you look at the past 30 years, starting with Anthony Carter and moving on to guys like Desmond Howard, Derrick Alexander, Marquise Walker, David Terrell and Amani Toomer all the way through to Edwards/Manningham/Arrington/Mathews (the last of the great Lloyd Carr WRs), UM has a much longer and deeper history with elite WRs than MSU.

He hasn't focused on recruiting much so it's hard to say, but for right now it's mainly UM and MSU. He's definitely open to more though so OSU and Notre Dame will definitely have something to say about that. I'd be shocked if he leaves the midwest, though.

Tremendous: I know you're not seriously looking into schools or setting groups right now, but you are getting a lot of attention from a lot of schools. Have you started to set any kind of criteria as far as what you are looking for in a school?
Da'Shawn: I just figured out what I want to major in. I want to major in petroleum engineering and I think I want to minor in business. I want a good education. If I don't make it into the pros, I want to put myself into a position where I am making money like I'm in the pros. I'm looking right now into which schools have a program that fits my interest, but I've mostly been focusing my time on football; working out, talking with my coaches and hanging out with my teammates. Spring practice is coming up soon and I'm getting ready for the Nike combine in Baltimore soon as well.
