[Keita Bates-Diop] scared of competition shrug

No idea why he chose Ohio over Michigan but we'll be alright. We're expecting a small class in 2014 and some of our other top targets are still uncommitted:
    - Trevon Bluiett
    - Jae'Sean Tate
    - Devin Booker

  • Worth watching because it shows some of his highlights from this year.

I don't think people realize how mobile Cornwell is. He can keep plays alive and occasionally run the zone-read.

    RecruitingNation: David Cornwell Interview

Bob Przybylo talks with Jones (Okla.) quarterback David Cornwell after a recent win. Still a junior, Cornwell holds two offers and attempts to stay ahead of the game by taking unofficial visits to college campuses throughout the fall.

I'm not worried about our class. I know we will be fine.

Just a general comment, just because you are under 6ft doesn't make you a slot WR. Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald are examples of WRs over 6ft who frequently line up in the slot to expose matchups. Desean Jackson and Steve Smith are a few of many WRs under 6ft who line up on the outside. Gallon lines up in the outside. Just saying, don't just assume he is a slot guy because of his height, coaches wouldn't recruit a WR just for the slot anyway, it's clear they like guys that are versatile. There's nothing that suggests chesson or jones couldn't play the slot. clearly they like Scott because he is a damn good WR prospect and we should leave it at that.

I AGREE....I think of slot as a quick, speedy, agile athlete. They mostly are shorter, York or Dukes are not slots. Jones may be, but, but I think he lacks some agility.

  • Borges' offense likes bigger guys in the slot.. See Funchess and Jackson lining up there all the time... You better be pretty versatile when playing WR now because offense are getting more and more complex... Scott looks like an Antonio Brown type that is going to cut corners up with routes and has speed to boot.... Love the offer and would be ecstatic if he chose Michigan.

  • Denzel Ward's film is up, the kid is not nearly as raw as I expected. Looks like Michigan got a total steal here.

It would be cool if 247 broke it down.

Not upset... the guy I think we need to get is Booker. If we miss on him and Bluiett then you can start smashing things lol.

Ya not surprised, his dad went to OSU. It's a testament to are coaching staff we were in the thick of things. I'm much more bummed about Bates. We should be fine though.

A LOT more mobile than I expected. He definitely should be in that top group.

He sounded a bit too much like Tebow for my taste. But I guess I could stomach 4 years of proselytizing if it brings a championship or two.

    Why?

Is it because he said "By the grace of God" in one of his responses?

Religion is important to many athletes even in the pro ranks. However, you don't hear about it because not many talk bout their religion or are associated with their beliefs like Tebow is.

Yeah. To me, religion is like a penis. Its okay to have one and its okay to be proud of it, but don't whip it out and start waiving around the room. And especially don't try shoving down other people's throats.

I'm not religious, but how do you consider saying "By the grace of God" or any other form of thanks to God to be analagous to "shoving [anything] down other people's throats?" I think you're blowing things way out of proportion.

  • How about everyone just stops posting about religion? It's a very slippery slope once people get roped into

  • From the article on here today, I get the feeling as though Tommy Doles may be close to pulling the trigger with Michigan. I would love this! Not only is he a solid player with a good head on his shoulders but hopefully this could cause a domino effect with some of the other top o-lineman. Since we are in the running with many of the top prospects this could help some of them speed along the process to ensure a spot. For 2014, I'd love it if we ended 2012 with commitments from Ferns, Ward, Doles, Mason Cole and Artavis Scott...that would be an incredible start to the class.

Wishful thinking but love it anyway.

I've always felt Doles was waiting to see if Notre Dame offered. Not sure who they'll be looking at in 2014 for the OL though or if he's in line for an offer eventually.

I kind of disagree with you, especially the shoving it down other peoples throats part....regarding the penis that is.

  • I know the bad recruiting news is getting old at this point, but some Mikale Wilbon quotes from a site that shall remain nameless:

"To be honest I think Ohio State will be the first to offer between the two. I talked to Coach Vrabel a lot and the running back coach likes me. At Michigan it feels like no one is interested. "

"I use to love Michigan when I was younger. I always wanted to go there and play Michigan ball, but after that visit it kind of made me not like them as much. They are really showing my teammate Jamarco Jones more love. We visited together and one coach thought I was his cousin and not a recruit. I came to visit and an offer didn't come so I felt like I'm not good enough or something. I feel like the visit didn't go very well."

One would think Michigan was stocked with RB. I just don't understand.
