2014 RB has in-state interest

I will be ecstatic if Denard is granted eligibility through 2014.

    So will MSU's Defense.

Michigan's Pro-Style Attack? I think you mean Michigan State. D Rob has to graduate before UM can start being a pro-style team again.

I wouldn't say Harrison is an MSU pipeline but it's definitely been looking like it could be.

    1. Yes, Michigan is moving to a pro-style offense. This is the last season for the RR offense to complete its course. The 2013 - 2014 season will be a pro-style offense.

    2. Harrison IS a Michigan pipeline. The MSU faucet was shutoff when Hoke & company came onboard.

    3. MSU should be nervous about Michigan recruiting right now. Yes, you beat us 4 years straight. However, Michigan has recruited high-caliber players for 2012, and now for 2013. Michigan is "in" on almost every top kid for 2014 - well ahead of MSU recruiting right now. Sure, the final score on the field is what counts. But, the "tide" has "turned" in the recruiting wars. Let the play on the field speak for itself.

    1. Yes we all know what Hoke is trying to do and it will take time to implement a new offense.

    2. Harrison will continue to be kind to MSU. UM has picked up its recruiting but not too much in Michigan. They've taken a similar approach as MSU in recruiting more nationally. But this is a down year for Michigan recruits.

    3. Dude, MSU has allows been out recruited by UM. Yet we still turn out NFL prospects and have a very respectable record since Dantonio has been coach. (Last 5 years 44-22 overall, 27-13 in conference) The keys are player development and depth... which MSU has an abundance of. Why would MSU be nervous? We’ve owned UM in the Big House the last two times and ever since D-Rob has been your QB. Plus, we have the best defense in the B1G. By the time we play MSU will be more than prepared to extend that to 5 straight.

UM's season will be decided by its O & D Lines... which don't look deep or prepared for Bama or MSU (probably O$U too). We experienced a Bama beating with a better Oline than you'll have September 1st.

This post is so full of fail.

    1) By the time 2014 rolls around Michigan will be a pro style team

    2) Michigan is killing it as far as recruiting goes in the state of Michigan. 2012 Michigan had 8 of the top 10, MSU 1. 2013 Michigan has 6 of the top 10 and MSU might get 2 if Riley Norman commits to MSU

    3) Bring it. Michigan wins in The Big House this year.

Your OL a couple years ago was not better than the OL Michigan is going to put on the field this year. Barring Injury or OL will be at worst the 2nd best OL in the Big Ten this year. Only Wisconsin might be better.

    1. I agree. UM will be a pro-style offense. Just a bit Vanilla though.

    2. I already stated that UM recruits better than MSU. That's nothing new. You're right UM has 6 as opposed to MSU's 1 (maybe 2). Down year for Michigan recruits.

    3. If you're ever going to win under D-Rob... this would be the year. Will a loss to us this year have UM fans trying hard to forget the D-Rob era? Or does this rivalry not mean much to you guys? Either way Paul B. has enjoyed his home for the last 4 years.

You're high if you think that your Oline is even close to as good as MSU's is this year or the one from 2 years ago. Please explain to me where you got this info from? I admire your homerism but dude come on. Everybody knows your lines are down this year. Maybe next year after this group gets some experience you can claim these high expectations... but this year defenses are going to be pinning their ears back.

And all of the down votes are lame. I'm just trying to have a reasonable debate here. MSU has its question marks to. I'm not going to be claiming that were NC bound before the first snap.
But I do know that we are deep, have a very strong defense, and our run game looks poised for big thing this year.

Our OL is experienced. We will be starting 2 5th year seniors in Barnum and Omameh. 2 4th year juniors in Lewan and Schofield. The other guard spot is up for grabs. So where do you get this theory that our OL is inexperienced. It's mostly the same OL that was better than MSU's last year. Lewan is considered an elite OL prospect for the NFL. Like i said in my original post only through injury will our OL be in trouble.

As far as our DL being weak i am assuming you are basing that off of Hoke's spring game comments. I am also guessing that you didn't hear his comments after that where he said that the lines and the team as a whole is much further along at this time than they were last year at this time. Hoke is never happy with the DL. Never will be.

lol Are you serious? How is it that the OL that had the 62th best rushing offense in the country better than the OL that paved the way for the 13th best? Only a truly underinformed homer could believe that.

    2. Harrison was kind to MSU, Hoke has changed that. And please not with this MSU is going national again. roflmao We laughed at that line last summer also. Can you define your "recruiting more nationally" rational. It isn't a down year for Michigan recruits, it is for MSU trying to land those recruits though. Since Hoke came in he has dominated instate recruiting and head to head vs MSU for recruits overall.

    3. MSU dominated a RichRod led Michigan, as did everybody else except Notre Dame and Indiana. As for the defense part, take some time and look up the stats in B1G play. MSU led the B1G in sacks, and that was about it. Michigan had better ypg #'s vs the run, vs the pass, and of course overall.

    4. As Never Lose Hoke has shown, MSU was craptastic running the ball last year, finishing 11th in B1G play, 1 ypg more than last place Iowa. lol Keep telling us how great that MSU run game will be. For the Dline, MSU is losing its best Dlineman from last year, Worthy. Gholston commented on how big a difference there is now with Worthy gone. Not good for MSU.

  • Sparty is pretty cocky for being dominated for most of their existence. Congrats on beating us in our worst years ever. It's circling back around and it's going to be hard to swallow little brother. If you think you can honestly win that game with Leveon Bell only....ask Nebraska how that went. All your good players have left for the most part and you won't have an offense this year. We might only need a field goal to win that game. I'm excited to for things to get back to the way they've always been and the way they should be. Hey, keep recruiting nationally tho and it might pay off. Otherwise don't come over here and talk about how great you guys are tho. You didn't win the B10 or a BCS bowl game...and we were ranked higher. Congrats on being beat once again by the good guys.

    1. Offense looked good to me last year, as a hybrid approach. Per NCAA statistics, Michigan was #42 in total offense last year. Michigan had the #19 toughest schedule in the country last year. BOTH stats better than MSU.

    2. Harrison is not kind to UM. UM has out-recruited MSU at Harrison last year. The kindness has stopped.

    3. "Dude" (must be a MSU term), I never questioned your NFL prospects, coaches ability, etc. YOU brought this up. As I stated, 'yes' you have beat us 4 years straight. You did read my comments, no?

The MSU argument of 'we recruit national' is a joke. You are not honest with yourself. I have many friends who are MSU grads, and they personally tell me they are concerned with UM recruiting right now. Your 'lone' national recruit Benenoch is being swayed by major suitors. You should watch your own hen house, with so many roosters looking to poach.

Spartys posting on this board are not honest with themselves. I have many friends from MSU, and they all tell me the concern they have with BH and Co. on the recruiting trail. Yes, top recruits does not equate to wins. However, the talent being assembled in A2 is very good. As I have stated before, fans will defend based on the past, coaches defend based on the future. I can only speculate OSU, MSU, PSU, coaches have noticed UM's resurgence in the recruiting trenches.

Top recruits with coaching DOES equate to wins. I've heard this argument from Sparty before. Case in point, look at Alabama. They have had a top 3 class for the past 5 years dating back to 2008 (ESPN rankings). There is a significant correlation with being a consistent recruiting power and winning on the field.

Top recruits with really good coaching equates to being one of the elite teams in the country!

There are also programs that generate 'top recruits', but never hit the NC game. Alabama is an exception. They play one level above everyone else. Also, a single data point does not make a "significant correlation". Point is .... recruiting is not everything, and yes ... coaching is a huge factor. The bigger point I made ... MSU and the rest of the B10 should be concerned with Michigan recruiting right now. The talent is impressive, and from coast to coast ctitics are raving at Michigan's haul thus far. Build from the lines and move out.

  • Look at Bamas recruiting over the past 5 years, and the on field performance.....that = SIGNIFICANT CORRELATION. Bama may be an exception in your eyes, because no one has recruiting as consistently as they have, but that doesn't diminish the success any more.
