  • Wonder if we'll get any commits soon or have to wait a while.

    Dylan Burkhardt ‏@umhoops
As expected, Keita Bates-Diop and Devin Booker both added Michigan offers this morning.

  • Devin Booker went to my High School as a Freshman, and I think that Michigan is in good shape for him.

Definitely seems that way. I wonder how much of a factor Missouri will be since he lives there now and his dad played there in the 90's?

    Doesn't he live in Mississippi?

Whoops.. thx. I thought it was Moss Point, MO, not Moss Point, MS.

  • Does anyone have an idea of how large the class will be? With all the attrition, will it be big, or did the 2012 and 2013 classes shell it all up? Either way, it looks like Beilein has put himself in a good position to land both Booker and Bates-DIop.

That's a tough question. It really looks like Coach B wants to add at least one more for 2013. Then you have the Austin Hatch situation. Who will leave early, Transfer, etc... If i had to guess I would say we should be able to take 3 maybe 4 guys for 2014.

I agree. I posted on another site my breakdown and said I thought 4 was a safe bet for the 2014 class. There is one open spot right now, then on top of that Burke will clearly not be around for a senior year and it's a safe bet that McGary and Tre Robinson might test the NBA waters before their junior years. Throw in uncertainty with Hatch, who knows what happens with Horford for a potential 5th year, and other attrition that's always possible and 4 is a good guess.

  • True. It's good to see an incredible amount of talent enter the program where at least a few will live up to the hype rather than relying on under the radar guys to over-perform their expected capabilities (Novak and Douglass). Not to say I didn't love watching both of them play, they brought the program back. If they hadn't overachieved, Michigan basketball would still be at the bottom of the B1G.

I would be shocked if Tre Robinson sticks around for his junior year. I think that kid is going to be great. Man would i love to get 2 years of Him, McGary, Donnal, Walton, etc.. playing together.

Yeah we are getting more talent, size, length and athleticism. If these kids play with the same heart, effort and desire that Novak and Douglas did then we should put some damn good teams on the court.

I don't think that it will be too much of a factor, from what I've heard, Missouri is behind Michigan by quite a bit.

  • From a little Q&A on UMhoops it sounds like Booker is going to take his time before he commits anywhere. Says he probably won't commit to a school this summer. I am kind of bummed about that. I was hoping he would commit to Michigan soon.

  • Devin Booker would be a phenomenal addition. Derrick Walton looks like a fantastic PG, as well. I know they aren't same class, i'm just sayin'.

I think Booker is more of a SG, at least Espn has him listed as a SG. I don't think there would be a problem with him and Walton playing in the same backcourt.
