I don't think we will see Green start at RB right away. I think Hoke will give Fitz another shot depending on how healthy he is of course. Kerridge is the guy at FB right now. I thought the coaches said Schofield was staying at RT?? If so I'm guessing Bryant wins one of the G spots. Dileo will be #2 or #3 imo.

Why do folks think fitz will start? Just curious because:
1. Coming off an injury
2. Was recruited and is clearly a more spread option RB
3. Didn't demonstrate the ability to run out of pro sets consistently
4. Hasn't always been praised for his blitz pickup
5. Have you seen green?
6. Coaches do not hesitate to play the freshman over seniors. -

I think he'll start because 1. At this time last year, we all thought Toussaint would likely be headed to the NFL after the 2012 season. There was a reason for that; Fitz is damn good when he's on. 2. He has incumbency, which obviously doesn't mean **everything** but it means something 3. Starting Fitz gives Johnson/Green/Hayes/ Smith more time to develop and in the case of the freshmen saves them a year of wear and tear before they have to be thrust into that role. 4. He has a full offseason and then some to come back from his injury. Plus, it's 2013, not 1962; guys are much less likely to have their careers destroyed or even severely hampered by these injuries. 5. If the coaches have any sense, they'll be running some pistol/Nevada formation read-option with Gardner at QB, making Toussaint's experience in the read-option game valuable. (Note: This reason would be higher, but I'm not convinced the coaches have the requisite level of sense).

Yup. Also, when I talked to Kugler a while ago, he actually WANTS to redshirt because he said he wants to continue to learn the center position and wants to be able to come right in and play at a high level. I'd be really surprised if he wasn't redshirted.

QB - Gardner RB - Rawls/Green/Smith/Fitz FB - Kerridge WR - Gallon WR - Darboh WR - Chesson TE - Funchess LT - Lewan LG - Kalis C - Miller RG - Bryant RT - Schofield
I fully expect this to be what Michigan's starting offense looks like at the beginning of the 2013 season.

Shallman mentioned playing tight end, fullback, and runningback when he gets to Michigan in a recent interview. I don't know if Borges is pitching the U-Back as a combination of those positions, or if he is literally going to take a shot at any of those positions.
I don't think you can categorically rule out Shallman playing fullback, in any case.
