Are you going to completely ignore the fact that the coaches want a slot in this class?

They want a 6'1" slot guy named Allen.

Big burners? Are you aware of how uncommon those are? He wants a vertical threat and Larue and Devon Allen would provide that. Any receiver in the 5-10.5 range and up fits in Borges offense.

2" makes Larue and Allen different players. Allen is taller than Hemingway.

If you're right then why does'nt Borges go after other shorter faster guys. He's not. All the targets are tall except larue. How many guys have they offered under 6ft? 1. There are a lot of big burners available. Also, they are now looking at a couple new offers. Both are over 6'2" and fast. You can't argue with the facts. The facts are the offers made. Either provide proof that we like sub 6ft guys or concede. We have some on the roster recruited by RR but not from Hoke.

The coaching staff is looking for a slot WR that is a burner. I don't know what you want me to tell you, but slot guys are usually in the 5'10 to 6'1 range. RR's slot guys are different, totally different system which called for just little speedsters, if RR was still the coach Dennis Norfleet would have had an offer much earlier in the process and would have been an APB/Slot ninja. The slots in Al Borges' system are in the range I mentioned earlier, which is the reason Larue was offered. Also, Larue is 5'11.5", he isn't that far off from 6'

You and GoBlueRanger are arguing different points but they are similar enough that I think the arguments are getting mixed up. So yes we might be offering a player or two that will fit in as a slot, though we haven't offered many. We are however not offering any shorter slot WRs in the mold of Gallon and Dileo.

Uncle newt said that Larue doesn't fit in the offense that Borges wants to run. I was making the point that the coaches want a slot in this class.

They might look different than RR's recruits, but the slot position will still be recruited.

"Also necessary? A slot receiver. Although the position doesn’t carry the importance it did during the Rich Rodriguez era, Brady Hoke’s staff would like one in this class. Santa Monica (Calif.) four-star Sebastian Larue could be their man. He is hoping to take a visit to Ann Arbor sometime this summer."

  • I love that hoke and co. are recruiting variety at every position, they definetly want big outside recievers but aren't overlooking slot guys that have good speed, I feel like the more variety you have at skill positions the better chance of finding a mismatch wih every team we play

I guess we will have a chance if he takes a visit. Until then I will say that he is most likely going to stay out west.

I recall someone mentioning that if he receives a USC offer then he is essentially a done deal to USC because he grew up in California and wants to leave Texas.

    Still, good news I suppose.

I was focused on size and you on slot guys.

Nonetheless, Larue is a special talent. He could be the next AC ( 5'11") or Desmond. These guys excelled on returns and as WRs...especially after the catch. Those two have the highest TD % per catch in Michigan history. So if he commits I'd be just as excited as any of the other guys I've mentioned at WR.

    Lets agree in that...
