This was my thinking just a while ago. But what Hoke said about EEs, about missing out on the senior experience, got me to think again. Sure, the advantages of enrolling early are tangible and there to see. You get to fasttrack a kid considerably, with football schemes and experience as well as S&C.
But I can also see two drawbacks. One is the HS senior experience Hoke mentioned. This is only my opinion, but that period can add some perspective to your life, and who knows? It may help you get through a tougher time in college. Another is, what if a kid EEs, and redshirts anyway? Redshirting doesn't necessarily mean that EEing was for naught, far from it, but the kid might feel differently. He could second guess his decision to EE and think he'd have been better off enjoying his senior year in HS if he knew he'd redshirt anyway, and that could have a negative effect.
