I think how close this class seems has to do with a few things. 1. Last years class was pretty close and set a precedent. 2. Social media/ twitter, face book, text messaging, cell phones has made the whole world shrink. 3. Our coaches I believe have looked for character in their recruiting along with kids that are team players.

I don't mean to call you out but I hope/pray that I don't start seeing more of these comments on our board.
Our OL haul this year is highly regarded but they have yet to play a snap of college football. We don't know if the OL will be as dominant as some think it will be.
I've used this example before but it seems it was ignored or forgotten so I'll repeat it again:
After Florida and Louisiana State embarrassed Ohio on national television in back-2-back BCS National Championship games because of excellent DLlines, Tressel brought in a highly touted OL class in 2008. Many Ohio fans reasoned that the OL (along with a dual threat QB in Pryor who was being made out to be the next Vince Young) would put Ohio over the top. Not only did that OL class never play in BCS Championship game, it never lived up to its potential.
My point is simple: It's one thing to be excited about our recruiting (which I completely understand). It's another entirely to make such over-the-top statements that can take on a life of their own. For starters, it does the recruits a disservice because they start trying to meet the (grossly) inflated expectations of fans rather than simply trying to play the best they can.

I worry about this the most with Morris. I'll probably be down voted for this but I think his performances at camps In a way has shown it. To me at the last couple camps instead of dinking and dunking to move the chains. He has tried throwing bombs and showing off his arm. Elite 11 was a good example along with what I saw of Grid Iron kings. Many people it seems think he will be the next Tom Brady. That is a very high pedestal Brady did not even reach at Michigan. I just hope people let him be Shane Morris.

Yeah it happens every year. People start projecting how awesome our team is going to be based on star rankings and how all these freshmen will instantly start. I remember reading how unstoppable we would be with David Underwood at RB and Scott Mclintock at LB back in the day before those guys even set foot on campus.

I read two articles where the coaches were interviewed and asked specifically about his position. At the time he committed they said he was coming in to play rb.
Then they interviewed Wyatt and he confirmed what the coaches said. He said the coaches said I will be given every oppostunity to play rb, this is one of the reason I wanted to come to Michigan, they have faith in my ability to rush the football.
Now that may have changed after, I didn't see anything in regards to that situation.
