    Even after Butt and Hill?

Hill is more of an H-back, which is like an oversized FB with great hands. Butt is more of a true TE who can block and catch but who also can line up as an extra OL. We are very thin at TE and wanted another one in the most recent class (after we lost Pharaoh Brown). I am not saying we will absolutely take another TE in 2013, just that if we get Treadwell we might not take a third true wideout. Remember, we already have Dukes in this class and we also took two true WRs in the 2012 class.

Iowa seems to been in good position. Alviti will probably commit to N'western before long. Down to NW/ND, but I do not want. I like Bailey much more. Didn't tOSU offer Bailey?

Yea but the Ohio fans seem to think Malik Zaire is a lock. Unless their thinking about signing two or three (Jalin Marshall?) QB’s this class.

  • Anyone know when Leon mccquay is visiting?
Kid would be a perfect fit. He has a 4.57 GPA and likes Vanderbilt so academics are definitely important.

One of the reasons he likes Vandy is because one of his best friends go there. But I agree that he seems like a great fit, he's a great athlete.

  • MSU offered Jack Miller's little brother yesterday, apparently as a guard. I think UM would recruit him as a DL. What I find interesting- he's offered as a guard and right now it does not look like Dillard got an offer. Clearly the MSU staff really doesn't think highly of Dillard.

Hate to say this but, we have bigger fish to fry.

We'll see. Much like the Cass Tech DT, you never know what names emerge. I think DT is the position most likely to have some 3*'s in the class.

Agreed, if we miss on Vanderdoes and Poggi, I'd expect guys like Gibbs and/or Miller to get offers

    It seems so.

I don't understand why Meyer would do that given he has Malik Zaire - who is a an absolute stud imo - in his own backyard.

Moreover, Meyer can take Travon Chapman (another dual-threat Ohio QB).

Meyer has multiple options for him at QB just in his own state. I'd like to see if he can screw up and miss out on everyone.

  • I'd be completely ok with Meyer not taking Zaire so that our coaches can swoop in and take him.

    But I fear that's a pipe dream.

    Passing-Oriented Dual Threat.

If Denard could throw like Malik, he'd be a lock for the Heisman this season.

McQuay appears to be a solid prospect, but any further secondary commits really need to be at CB, given Dymonte and the many S taken in '12.

That's not the point though, the coaches promised Shane they wouldn't offer another QB this year and unless Malik wants to play somewhere else he either won't receive an offer or be in this class.

Wish UCLA was closer. Loved the campus the last time I visited. DEF wouldn't mind seeing more of it! Different atmosphere up there. #Relaxed

Sounds like distance would be a definite factor. If UCLA is too far, no chance he comes to Michigan.

Shane has said he doesn't care either way and that he would be fine with another QB even though the coaches told him they didn't want another.

I think he means so he could make a quick trip up there every now and then. If I'm right he lives in the upper half of California while UCLA is in the Lower half of California.

If that's the case, he's going to Cal.

It's more about keeping their word and keeping Shane happy more than anything. I doubt the coaches offer another QB unless Shane got injured or decommitted (that won't happen)
