At this point, I'm hoping we finish Bailey-McQuay-Treadwell, and if there's another spot open for some reason, we can snag a DL unless Fuller wants in as well.

    I like this!!!!

Fuller is a lock at Va Tech, Im almost certain of this. But I have been wrong before!

Won't happen. USC already has 2 WR commits and Sebastian Larue will commit there later this week. They will not add another WR with their sanctions - I'm surprised their taking a 3rd receiver in Larue to begin with.

The team to worry about is Oklahoma State. His uncle went there, so he's got that sort of legacy draw there. Everyone knows that receivers are going to get touches in that offense as well. The success of Dez Bryant and Justin Blackmon in college and now in the NFL (at least high picks, even if head cases) has also got to be very appealing.

  • Ya if we don't get Treads...I like Bailey is a must get along with either Allen or Carrington

My worry with Treadwell is that he is more interested in the publicity that comes with being a high-profile Michigan recruit (how many twitter followers does he have) than he is interested in Michigan.

I think he will be easily swayed and could very likely surprise the staff on signing day.

Your evidence of his interest in publicity is based on him asking for twitter followers? 9 out of 10 recruits ask for followers from the teams that are recruiting them. What evidence do you have that he is easily swayed? We were Treadwell's leader before he even had an offer and still remain his leader now. There are many reasons why a kid would not commit to a school right away. Like Poggi, some like to bring attention from elite schools to their HS and teammates. Treadwell has hinted to this in a few interviews. I think its very naive to assume Treadwell is some type of media hog or easily swayed just because he hasn't committed on OUR timeline. Relax, its mid-June and no one is obligated to commit to a school right now, let him do what he wants and I believe he'll be blue in the end. If not, best to him but I have not seen one single ounce of evidence that suggests any of the things you mentioned.

Yea, he just wants to maximize this free publicity to gain twitter followers to enhance his street cred....maybe he should team up with Kevin Durant and play some flag football, that would be huge for twitter nation

  • I wouldn't worry about Treadwell. He has named Michigan as his leader for quite some time now. I think he is just holding off his commitment to take visits so he can get into some free games. lol

Treadwell is doing this so his teammates draw interest as well. He's been to Michigan more than any other place. Not worried

  • Laquon Treadwell has actually denied having any leaders for months now.

Michigan is assumed because he hasn't been able to really go out and visit other schools.

This is exactly why I am not worried about Treadwell. Chris Wormley was so similar last year. Everyone was waiting and waiting for the kid to commit. He wasn't taking visits. Until Treadwell starts taking visits I am not worried.

He has visited Ohio, MSU, Illini with OU and OSU remaining. Every analyst has UM as the leader, he personally has not said so because again there are other reasons behind that.

This. Hell he even tried visiting the Oklahoma schools but weather canceled that

Ohio and MSU weren't really in it for Treadwell though.

I have no issue with you being pessimistic and in no way am I trying to swing your optimism. I just had issues with the large assumptions being made that had no to little evidence of being accurate. Kids are being perceived one way or another just because they are going through a process that is once in a lifetime. Folks were comparing Fern to Mathis just because he has liked Ohio, Penn st, and UM. I thought the Mathis comments are unfair. Well of course a kid will be impressed with seeing big universities for the first time, Fern is 16 and just starting the process. NSD is in Feb for a reason, to allow kids to take their time in making a decision because there are so many impressive schools. We shouldn't judge or assign attributes to kids just because they are not committing on the spot.

I wonder why...perhaps because he has a standard. Gedeon had a standard and still visited schools, same as Poggi. Treadwell still wants to see OU and OSU so we'll just have to see

Wasn't Ohio in it up until the whole "Urban telling two recruits that they were both #1" thing? I thought Ohio was a strong player for both Foster and Treadwell until that went down.

I would love to believe that. I hope somebody can shed a bit more light on it.

What assumptions have I made? I just said that I'm worried Treadwell is more interested in the publicity than in the actual university.

    Otherwise:

    1. It has been noted on several occasions that Treadwell is really enjoying the recruiting process.
    2. He has repeatedly said he doesn't have a leader.
    3. He hasn't gotten a chance to visit USC, OK State, or Oklahoma.

That may have played a role. My opinion is Ohio is going through the same things UM is in regards to a new offense. UM is selling recruits on a prostyle offense that no one has seen in action. That certainly sells OLinemen, but with RBs and WRs its a harder sell. Ohio is selling a spread but UFs spread wasn't kind to a single star WR like OSU or OU would do. So unless you are a diehard Ohio fan you aren't jumping at signing with Ohio either until you can see it in action. I also believe (just my personal thoughts) that Treadwell really respects Hoke and UM and wouldn't really consider going to Ohio or MSU for that matter.

well your second sentence is an assumption, which you base off of him asking for twitter followers.

I said "I'm worried" because I don't know. For someone who plainly enjoys the hoopla surrounding the recruiting process, its very possible that he would overstate his interets in Michigan to get fans.

I'm just trying to keep a level head about a kid who hasn't even visited his presumably 2nd and 3rd favorites schools and has repeatedly said he doesn't have a leader.
