2013 Recruiting Hotlist

Can anyone pm me the VIP info? It would be greatly appreciated

Why don't you just become a VIP member? You seem like you want the recruiting info pretty bad, might as well cut out a $10 monthly expense and replace it with a membership here.

Since Clint messaged me about a month ago about it.

ive seen people post twitter info within the past month on a not so infrequent occurence. assuming that is what the vip posts were, just vip'ing that info doesn't solve the problem either.

also thought the mods said not to have a bunch of vip posts in this thread - could be wrong on that though

Another poster said that he didn't know why UM was offering Moss because he looked 'bad on the field'. You called it superficial analysis.

It's just funny that the same kid that supposedly had this bad film, is now getting interest from us, Bama, and FSU. So in other words the poster that said his film was bad, is flat out wrong.

Gotcha...I wasnt doubting his video or abilities, I took a jab at the poster who gave his analysis on Moss, by saying the common trite evaluation of "he needs to get bigger and stronger," or some superficial crap like that.

Recruiting a ton of 3* in the past has been effective, look at TCU and Boise.

    I know... that's what I was saying.

Guy probably watched 30 seconds of a highlight film and declared he was no good, and started questioning why we offered. Then the next day Bama and FSU contact him. He must suck.

Georgia is at 30. LSU is only at 24. They'll get up to 30 too.

  • So treadwell tweated that his mom is sold completely on ole miss and that these last visits are very important....decisions!!!

I havent wanted to talk about him since ive thought he has been gone since the summer. Yet, i was just hoping that he was playing things out because he really just didnt want anyone to know where he was truly going.
I have been highly annoyed with his recruitment. This is not a sore loser thing either. Had he chosen another achool a month ago i would be happy for him.

  • All I can say is actions speak louder than words, especially words on twitter. Lets see if he takes a visit to Michigan then I think right back in drivers seat. Maybe optimistic but I think Michigan is still the pick in the end

It can be effective if you want to make a 1-2 year run every 4-5 years. Not going to work for a sustained program. Where are those schools now? Besides it didn't work for RR while he was here either. Dont get me wrong, you can find great players with a 3 star rating, and if surrounded by more tallent you can spend the time developing them in to great players. But when you look at the best programs over the last 10 years, they aren't doing it with a house full of 3 star recruits.

The other point, regarding teams like TCU and Utah, was that they loaded up on 3* players, moved them around to new positions (QB's became Safeties, Safeties became WRs, etc), and loaded a giant chip on their shoulder telling them how they could show those BCS teams who passed on them how wrong they were. That makes it pretty easy to get up for 1-2 big games per year playing as the underdog. From 2008-2010, Utah went 31-5, but since joining the Pac12 they have gone 12-12 in 2 seasons. TCU went 44-4 from 2008-2011, then went 7-5 this year in the Big12. Sure those teams lost some players and had some injuries, but it says a lot when you have more losses in 1 season than you did in the previous 3-4 combined with largely the same roster.

Other than scholarships being renewable annually, I don't get how they continue to skirt the rules. A&M has 18 Seniors on their roster. There is no way in hell they've got 14 Juniors going pro.
With 18 Seniors either entering the draft or graduating, and let's say 2-3 players leaving early, that's 21, normal attrition rates applying 3-4, lets figure high and say 4, we're at 24-25. How do you manufacture an additional 7 or 8 scholarships.

  • Look I know this is your hotlist. I'm sorry for taking it off topic but the SEC and oversigning makes my blood boil. I shouldn't have commented. Again, my apologies.

Yep. That seventh visit will change everything.

He's visited Michigan a half dozen times, and he has two schools (in frickin' Oklahoma!) ahead of Michigan that he hasn't even visited yet.

Be satisfied with the 2013 WR recruiting class as it is, because its likely done.

Except that if we get LMIII, it wouldn't shock me to see the coaches offer Conley the chance to play WR.

And thank you for making my point. If you visit a place that often, you like the place. You wouldnt waste your time if you didnt. You dont rank a school you never visited ahead of one you visited often and enjoyed. He's playing the recruiting game. If he schedules another visit to Michigan I feel good.

Under recently adopted NCAA and SEC rules, they cannot sign all those. Some will likely not make the cut academically and will be shipped off, unsigned, to JUCO or prep schools.

Placing them in an incubator does however accomplish a few things such as:
    A) still likely to favor their original landing spot after JUCO pending coaching changes
    B) removes them from the competitive market

I'm a lawyer. Enacting a law or rule doesn't solve everything. It has to be enforced and there are always creative ways to get around most rules if you put your mind to it. The new rules won't kill oversigning, but they will reduce it. And Mike Slive and Mark Emmert are not going to be happy if the year after they implement new rules one school totally thumbs its nose at them. The days of signing 36 players to a class are over.
