2013 Recruiting Hotlist

  • I have a hard time seeing any of the 12 or 13 kids being a downgrade from Barnum, Mealer, Omameh and possibly Schofield as soon as next year... Melaer Barnum and Omameh were downright terrible this year and Schofield not much better... That is why having another option like Dawson (wink) is a good idea... Need as many bodies and options as possible even if they are true frosh.

    Barnum, Schofield, and Mealer were all highly rated recruits coming in, and Omameh looked good as a freshman and sophomore starter. None of them seem to understand the blocking schemes one bit to go along with being slightly overmatched when engaged. Hell, even Lewan seemed to plateau.

    Lack of skill only accounts for a little bit of the offensive line problems, and I will be surprised if the freshmen coming in latch on to the scheme a whole lot better.

    I am hoping Lewan is sticking around for next year or else we are in real trouble is all RS FR on the OL.

    They werent ranked all that high either, not as high as any of the 2013 kids. Generally 3 to lw 4 star kids.

  • I am not worried about what the rankings say... I am more impressed with offer sheets and passing the eyeball test... Omameh is not a power OG and looks terrible getting out into space... He peaked 2 years ago... Barnum is oft injured and is small... Again looks terrible pulling.. Mealer was dealt a crap hand and has worked his butt off but you wonder how much everything that happened took a toll on his body... That shoulder was shredded... Barnum was the only one of the 3 with impressive offers and UF stopped talking to him late which made him turn away... I don't care too much what Mike Farrell or other "recruiting gurus" say, I will trust what D1 coaches say with offers.

  • LOL @ Went off over the weekend. He went off over the entire season. He's the only player in MHSAA history to have more than 2000 yards receiving in a season.

  • So the OL targets to fill the 5th OL spot thus far seem to be:

    CA Cameron Hunt (Cal commit)
    AZ Kenny Lacy (UCLA commit)
    MD Naty Rodgers (Undecided)

    Am I missing anyone?

    I don't think there is any chance for Isaac, but I do like the coaches floating this out there to make sure Green remembers we are one of the few schools on his list that fits his style and has a full staff in place and may have other options if he is just waiting on seeing who Auburn will hire.

    I agree, it would take quite a bit to get Isaac to flip to Michigan. I would be nothing into this unless he visits Michigan. He does have to allow for the visit to occur, so there's that aspect of it.

    Jordan Wilkins should be targeted again, but he appears to be headed to a SEC team.

    Coaches won't go back after Wilkins.. He tore up his knee and wants to stay South. Not to mention he was tweeting for ohio to beat us on saturday.
