This made me laugh. Believe me....the meltdown will be epic if they go undefeated. Smith and Gee will be "Dead Men Walking" considering how they handled the mess in CBus.

Well said....and congrats on your easy path to the BCS championship game this year. You have to be the favorites to hoist the crystal ball, and dont let anybody tell you that you cant win that game by watching it on the couch. Your better then that

They would be the only national championship team in history to give up 49 points to Indiana.

God, can you imagine how bad they're going to get beat once Tre Roberson is back next year?

  • Everyone should go over to scout and listen to Sam Webb interview Cass Tech's coach Thomas Wilcher. He talks about David and what happened. He sums it up pretty good. I have made some comments about Dawson since he was released from his scholarship, but i agree we need to let it go and let the kid do was he has to do. He has been through some hard times. Wilcher says he thinks Dawson will regret his decisions and how he handled his Michigan commitment. He never mentioned Damon Webb and Michigan but what he says about him makes it sound like Michigan is the team to beat. Man, you gotta love how he is decked out in Michigan gear from head to toe! With him at the helm at Cass, we will get 9/10 guys we want every time.

I'm not worried about CT in the future. They had a good class this year, but we didn't have room for Finley on the OL, Dawson is a headcase, and Delano Hill just had the unfortunate distinction of being in a class where we've had Dymonte committed for over a year.

Ultimately though, I think seeing Dawson's path and regret might make future recruits think a lot harder about what it would mean to burn that bridge to UM. God willing, seeing the whole Dawson saga play out will make Conley think twice. If he doesn't fall in love with Oregon, he's somewhat screwed.

I also find it interesting that he mentions Drake as a back up at LB.

  • I personally am not so worried about Michigan at Cass Tech because even the young men that we didn't get (Finley, Kenton Gibbs, Hill, even Dawson) all wanted to go to Michigan and the room just wasnt big enough for all of them. It's great to have such a wealth of talent in our backyard that you can dip into and hopefully get as many players as possible from (when needed).

I will never be concerned about Cass Tech so long as Thomas Wilcher is there.

However, I'm much more concerned about Michigan players from Cass Tech living up to their hype. Thus far, the small sample size has not been positive but I don't want to color my impressions of future players with past failures.

  • No thread pertains to this so I'm posting it here. For those who have insider on ESPN, TomVH just wrote up a great piece dissecting our past four recruiting classes and the quality/quantity of players still on our roster. It is unreal how much turnover we've been forced to have. It is also flat out sick how much talent we've brought in the past two years compared to 2008-2010. I would put more details but it's insider info and I respect that, just want to reiterate our future is extremely bright and one or two 4 stars leaving our class (only to be replaced by other highly touted recruits..) will not noticeably affect our on-field performance. It is also irrelevant to think such because it is impossible to gauge what would have been.

Seems like an attempt to excuse Borges for his terrible play calling. I commented on it saying something along those lines, but all of the posters over there just hug TVH's sack so they aren't going to go against him.

Fact is, Borges has talent, he may not have the greatest depth, but the talent is there, regardless of what the stars say.

Roundtree was a up and coming receiver before Borges took the job, Robinson was effective in the passing and running game, the offensive line was very good, and the offense was overall very good before Borges.

In my opinion, Borges simply isn't getting the job done, whether it be in recruiting or development, the offense looks like it's on a path of stagnation rather than on it's way to being effective and powerful.

    Disagree.

People are jumping to conclusions based on our last two games. This season was said to be a semi-transition to his offense with Denard at the helm from the start. It is necessary for our programs future. While yes, he could probably utilize Denard more effectively, I do not put as much of it on Borges as most of you. Denard has been in the system for a while and still makes horrendous decisions. That is his fault. You can't just lump everything together and blame it on the O-coordinator. That's way too easy and not justified.

And I agree that everyone on ESPN shlobs on Tom's nutsack, and I can't stand those posters which is why I have never once posted on ESPN, but you can't just refute the statistics. They are what they are. Give Borges his system with the quality of our incoming talent, then judge him. He was never meant to coordinate a spread attack. He is doing what he can and it could be much worse. If a psychology professor was told to teach a sociology class, it would not be to the classes max potential.

Borges has had some questionable play calling this year, but there isn't much he can do with what Michigan has on offense.

Then why was Rich Rod able to do so much after his first year? Maybe it was because he recruited personnel to fit his offense?

I don't expect it to be a top 10 offense, but he has regressed and continues to try to force something completely foreign onto the current players.
